Intentionally misheard lyrics
|
|
|
Do you ever, when listening to some songs, choose to hear some lyrics the way you think it sounds better. For example, when I listen Breaking Glass, I rather hear "Lately, I've been..." instead of "Baby, I've been...". Or, on Memory Of A Free Festival: "The Sound Machine is coming down..." rather than "The Sun Machine...". There's a dozen such examples for me, and I think most of it, though not all of it, stems from mishearing the lyrics the first time, and then attaining a sentimental attachment to "your version". Besides, Bowie himself sometimes changes lyrics on different or live versions.

no, but on ashes to ashes he sings "Want an axe to break the ice", but i always think it sounds like he sings "I want and axe to break the ikes"...
Self-improvement is masturbation. Self-destruction is the answer.

I prefer Ziggy a bit less dirty, so I intentionally mishear with god-given eyes

I always hear Lately instead of Baby too....cause it sounds like it. I like to hear (as i've said in some thread before....i think) Hand Burners instead of Hamburgers on 'Sweet Thing'.

Hmmmm.....I can't remember right now,but I know there is a helluva lot of it!!
I like to change U2's beautiful day..... See the world in green and blue See the heaven's high right infront of you See the Thin White Duke running around With that white cocaine in his mind See Ziggy Stardust,he's kiddding all around See the others, they'll try all to knock us down And see the Starman,he's waiting in the sky After the storm all the stars came out...
Ave David,morituri te salutant!

Yes, actually.
In Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) when it goes:
"She asked for my love and I gave her a dangerous mind..."
Before I looked at what the lyrics really are I heard it as:
"She asked for my love and I gave her a dangerous smile..."
I'm sorry, but "smile" just sounds so much better! it just sounds... sexier. So I prefer to keep it that way.
let it go let it go let it go let it go...

are any of u guys familiar with 'only fools and horses' ? It's a very popular sitcom that's been running sporadically for the best part of 20 years in England If u have ever been to msjorca, no doubt u will have seen it there, where it seems to be on loop on every single tv in magaluf!
Anyway, when i hear rock (b) dj by the robster, i always think he sounds like he's singing the closing theme music to only fools and horses..... just listen the next time u hear it: "here with the floor show kicking with your torso, t.v.s deep freeze & david bowie l.p.s "
i swear, it's uncanny!
