Im happy to hear that the Arrow Rock-concert has moved to Amsterdam, where I live. Interesting point is that the organization of Arrow Rock has cancelled the whole friday because "they couldn't arrange a satisfying line-up''. Well I think they wanted to add The Cure (because their name was allready at the promo's for the festival at Arrow Classic Radio)but couldn't arrange that or so.
I think there's not so many difference in the case of amounts of people if he plays at a stadium or a festival
I hope he will change his setlist a little bit before coming back to Europe, and not only his act.... yes.... newspapers in Holland wrote that David said he is in an experimental phase and his act would be radically changed this spring.
im looking forward to the gigs anyway

As I announced earlier on - but appearantly nobody has noticed it - Bowie will also return to Werchter, Belgium. It's a festival with a very solid reputation and always a great setlist (check http://www.rockwerchter.com for details). It's isn't that far for all you french, dutch, british and german folks, so you're all invited. It's the third year in a row that Bowie will perform in Belgium, something that I find quite unbelievable.
Looking forward to the "new" Bowie, although I'm afraid that Bowie will choose for a quite safe setlist.

In reply to:
Another option would be the less big (40.000) but far cooler "Hurricane 2004" festival in Scheessel (Hamburg/Bremen/Hannover area).
I am a little late with the update but Bowie is indeed doing the Hurricane Festival in Germany this year. The date is June 25th - 27th, the exact timetable has not been announced yet.
This regular festival has a very good reputation and as it is fairly close to Berlin and the band list looks pretty good to me I might even think about going there.
Here is the list of bands and artists confirmed for the event so far:
Air Anti-Flag Ash Beatsteaks Beginner Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Bright Eyes
Danko Jones David Bowie Die Fantastischen Vier Die Happy Dropkick Murphys
Echo and the Bunnymen Elbow
Fireball Ministry Franz Ferdinand Fünf Sterne Deluxe
Gentleman & the Far East Band Hawksley Workman
Ill Nino
Jet
Life of Agony
Mando Diao Mclusky Mogwai Monster Magnet
Pixies PJ Harvey Placebo
Sportfreunde Stiller The (International) Noise Conspiracy The Bones The Cure
The Hives The Mars Volta The Sounds Tiger Beat Tomte
Wilco (Hey p2c, fancy a travel? ) Within Temptation

Wow, thats some set list, shame I have neither the money or the time to go there. However, legend has it that Iggy Pop AND the Stooges are performing at V2004 this year. In fact, Bowie is rumoured as well. I can but dream. But the Pixies are definetly playing!!!!
At least I'm not a whore

I know, I was there last year and I will be there this year. I just didn't mention it because I thought everyone would know allready. It has a great line-up again this year, starting on thursday with The Cure and finishing at sunday with Pixies, Placebo and Bowie in a row. It's like a dream.

Could you give me a quick run down on how much a festival show such as this one costs, when tickets go on sale and if there allocated seating? Will you be going?

Here is the Hurricane info:
Tickets are already on sale and cost 85 € (99$) for the whole three days, use of the camp site included. One day tickets cost 50 € (58$). There are no seats on the festival ground. And yes, it looks like I will be going, at least for the Friday - and the fact that one of the organizers is a friend of a friend makes it even more likely.
