Here are some highlights of last nights show. AlysonSane and I had 3rd row (however we moved up to 1st at the end). Very very good view. David was strikingly....hot. It was our first time that we saw him, and it was deffinately memorable.
He started out with (the very predictable) Rebel Rebel, as Brittany and I totally went crazy. Nobody in the crowd was as insane as we. They all stood there clapping and cheering, however WE were jumping and screaming, and absolutely going hysterical. It was our first Bowie show, so I thought our behavior was rather appropraite.
David kind of messed up in "I'm Afraid of Americans". Allow me to elaborate.
David: And this song is called I'm Afraid of Americans......*And he's all ready to sing, grabs the mic*
The band: *blank stare*.......O_O
Apparently the band wasn't ready for him. Or David forgot. Evidenlty there was some confusion. SO they start out playing, and now David wasn't ready, and unsatisfied. He stops the band:
David: No no no!! stop stop stop! *to the crowd* this is what I call the show that doesn't know where it's going. After a few jokes he kindly says "Nah, I'm not really Afraid of Americans" and the song takes off.
Also there was the unforgettable "China Girl". As he approaches the famous moment, he licks his finger..puts his hands on his hips, while making a few feminine face expressions and says "Oh Baby...just shut the f*ck up!". Very very well said, followed by the self..touching thing. O_O..
Also, he made fun of US 3 times. brittany and i were jumping up and down, with our hands up, like at a rave gig, with our "rock" finger sign, and banging our heads to Hallo Spaceboy. And bowies stands on this ramp, looks at us, directly and he starts mimicking us!! with a stupid look on his face, making fun of us. then he gets off the ramp, walks a little bit to the left of the stage, turns around, looks at us again, and copies exactly what were doing, only...with that crazy look on his face, and does it once again as he gets to the center stage. Very amusing indeed
On a side note I did ALMOST cry when he sang Five Years. I wanted to cry, but I couldn't for some reason. Probably cuz of the mental state shock of him being directly in front of us.
Anyway! Here's some...pics. My disposeable camera didn't fail me, but don't expect too much

I can explain the mess up ziggysgirl. I also think I sat next to you. After the show we were talking to you [i think] and we were going to leave when a man stopped us and gave my little brother the offical set-list paper. It ahd all the songs for the night on it. Plus one extra. Right before I'm Afraid Of Americans he was to play She'll Drive The Big Car - but David seems to of forgotten and the band thought they were going on that song/ David thought otherwise. This is the reason he was confused - all were. I find this quite funny - and I love the holy relic I know wn. also thanks for the pictures. Judging by them you were next to me.

Holy snot! It's the guy with the super duper little brother. That kid rocks my frickin socks. He was the highlight of my night - second to Bowie of course.

Shoot dudes, I have gone on and on about the concert and the bloody hotel all day today. My favourite story to tell is the rock hand mockage story because that, um, well, that's awesome. I was made fun of by David F*cking Bowie. That's cool by me.
"Oh baby, just shut the f*ck up"

How fun is THAT! To be mimicked by David Bowie! Man, to top you, I can only hope that he jumps into the crowd (I'll be in Row 2) in Vancouver and beats the snot out of me! Now THAT would trump your story now, wouldn't it?
Glad you had such a blast!

Rebel Rebel Was liek a mix of the old and new. It was a great starter
New Kilelr Star Everyone screamed whe nthis song came out. Davdi Smiled alot - even while he was singing - almost missing his cues.
Reality- I never totally adored the song before - but now i love it. It was so great live. And teh acting he put into it - it made the song make more sense. Great one. I was jumping up and down
Fashion David kept messing this one up = but it was funny. He was say "turn to the right, turn to the right" or he would put his hands the wrong way and make this face of "oops".
Hang Onto Yourself The crowd went wild for this one. It's an old favorite of everyones and it was just great to let loose and hang out to the song. David was thouroughly enjoying himself and looked embarassed as we clapped everytime he began to talk. We wouldn't let it up. The nhe said that his birthday was the next day and we in the front sang him happy birthday!
Fame I do like this song, and it was great live - but not the best live. It's sort of muddled and confused.
Cactus "why don't you fucking Americans listen to your own fucking great bands?" david said this alluding to the Pixes and much more. This song is a rocker and he proved it. As [near the end] he sang "just wishing that i ahd jsut somthign you wore" a woman through her underwear up there." - he giggled. I head banged
All The Young Dudes A def highlight to the show! ALL knew the words and sang with him. He encouraged i too. It was a definate to have at his concerts. God it was amazing. He sang "T.Rex" and everyone cheered louder. A great one words can't describe
China Girl "oh baby just you shut the fuck up" funny thing is is that i aleways snag it that way and david sang it that way. It was great. People laughed. The song was done masterfully. The guitar players and etc weere awesome.
The Lonliest Guy "Now I am going to sing a middle aged song - a sad one of sorts - so you people sit down and shut the fuck up." That;s how he began this song with extremely well done graphics in the background of travelling - lost through the forest. I swear the was a moment when david was going to sob or something. It could just be the theatrics though. But this song is one of his greatest "ballads".
The Man Who Sold The World He said he first played this song in cleveland with the keyboardist. The song was really done up well with lights and smoke to add. The whole song was a swirling array of fun and thought. David, when later joking with the corwd said that "you can always come to a bowie show and get litteratry humor. he made some more jokes. He also commented on the warm feeling he was getting from us. And how we were better, way better than the Uncasville, Connecticut crowd. Bowie stripped and grabbed himself periodically through the show
Hallo Spaceboy Another highlight among many. Such a hyped up fast paced rocker. Davdi was acting like he was 20. I was jumping and singing like mad - as were the two girls near me. He then began to laugh and point at them mimicing them. He also laughed at the girls - -they were awesomely funny/cool.Bowie hopped around different stage areas too.
Sunday There was a short pause and the song was on - starting slow - beautifully until the finale-climax in an upheaveal of energy. A memorable moment.
Under Preassure I really don't like this song - other than Bowie's climax which was awesomely done. Gail was amazing as a freddy mercury stand in. Well done. Earl SLick was amazing on the gitar points as well
Life On Mars? Done a bit differently - with more sorrow than violent energy. Many people cried. Hell everyone nearly cried. People didn't know whether to sit or stand. Awe striking. Hell - bowie great. But we al knew that
Ashes To Ashes "Keeping wit hour space theme..." bowie said. The song was - well great - of course! But The the fatful moment happend when he was looking down the isel - he was trying to get me t odo the jump - I swear - but I froze and he laughed. Later [5 sec] he looked back and I did it for him and he laughed. A great song - God I could burst!
Changes A crowd pleaser- everyone knew it - everyone enjoyed it. Bowie stops to talk some more and then the band goes into a song. Bowie goes "what the fuck stop. Looks at he screen wit htwo people dancing and says "get a room - leave - go on" was this She'll Drive the big car? The he says how the band ruined the first great segue of the year "hahaha" Gail looks at him like he's crazy or something - haha. But then the go into... [for you Bowie ]
I'm Afraid Of Americans Well its what you expect. I banged my head until I couldn't stand anymore. A great [and predictable] song.
Heroes He took verses of this song and switched them around. He sang his heart out. This is the part when I ran to the fron of the stage as the security got up to do something. I was at his frickin feet. - He touched a young girls hand even. A beautiful ending. Making everyone wnating and waiting for more.
encore
Afraid guys went on stage wit hthe band gone acting like they were putting things away but then lights came on and bowie came out with all. He said "can you stand a bit more? We're going to go on quite a bit longer now. Afraid sound exactly like the album version so not much to say there. Be My Wife Bowie says "this one is from the album low - it's Be My Wife Girls next to me go "ME ! ME! ME!" funny. He did it awesomely and with such a flare only Bowie can give to it."
Fantastic Voyage "Do you guys know this one? It's from an album called lodger. I think you should know it." Yes we did and it was done superbly. Earlier on he intro. the band and they're all masters at tehir art.
White Light/White Heat Always best live. This song reminded me of his sziggy tour that i saw on dvd - if not better.
Five Years I could of cried had it not been for testosterone
Suffragette City I grew up on this and still am. I shook my head like a beast - head banging jumping and such. It was a whirled daze! God Bowie was great back then and he still is now - if not better!
Ziggy Stardust and Ziggy played... guitarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Best show ever!

Oh another thing. I didn't mention this earlier, but right in the beginning...of NKS, we ran up to the little ramp thing he was standing on and gave bowie 2 roses. The guard let us!! And we just put them right next to his feet (I almost grabbed his foot but didn't risk it cuz I thought I'd get flogged by the security). I hope he likes the color red.

Oh, but he got one thing wrong that I remembered . . . the "get a room" bit to the screen behind him was before "I'm Afraid of Americans." That was wonderfully hilarious. I've decided that our, um, teenie bopperness kinda blinded us. Unfortunately, we're stuck with a blur as a memory. A blur of bliss and adoration yes, one that I wouldn't trade for any lade back, chin stroking "Ah yes, David Bowie. Quite the artist really" kind of experience. We'll just have to rely on others for the details, but we'll remember the emotion.
READY!!! DON'T LEAN ON MY VAN COS YOU'RE CALIFORNIA CHICKEN . . . good grief, my throat is still punishing me for that one.
The white panties were fab, only wish I'd thought of that myself, but hey, I had light-up lip gloss for the cigerette lighter numbers since - erm - I don't smoke.

Alright, as I'm sitting here, looking up at my tour poster, I'm beginning to feal the reality of the whole thing sinking in - really, no pun intended. Anyway, I'm slowly coming off the "OMG OMF OMG" screaming trip into, um, whatever this reflection is.
Anyway, I must say it was a sweeter than sweet show, but with any artist with as much time under his belt as Bowie, you're going to have a lot of songs we only wished he could have played for us.
I'm starting my list now (though, I want to make it clear that this concert was more than I dreamed for)
Strangers When we Meet (never would have happened, but a girl can dream, right?) Queen Bitch Rock and Roll Suicide (I really was hoping for this one) The Heart's Filthy Lesson Drive in Saturday (my current favourite) Golden years (my first favourite) Never Get Old (it might just be my up-coming favourite, you never know for sure - NEVER GONNA BE ENOUGH SEX) OH you pretty things
Furthermore, I just wanna dwell on my personal highlights for the moment. Hang onto Yourself rocked my socks for sure. That and Suffragette were my dance, jump, GO BIZERK numbers. Hallo Spaceboy was just, wow. WOW. Of course, I don't even need to MENTION life on mars? you already know that was AMAZING. I was so shocked and wonderfully AMAZINGLY happy that he played Cactus. I dig that song. Heroe's was perfect. Okay, those are my treasured numbers. I extend my thanks to Bowie for his kick-ass show. I don't think I've ever enjoyed myself so much.

Hey there all,
I was at the DB show in Cleveland, OH also. I just thought I would make a teeny correction/addition to the review/commentary on the song "Loger" played that evening. I believe what Bowie said was: "Do any of you know my album Lodger?" <cheers from crowd> DB: "Well, thank fucking god!"
Yet another tidbit of the man's wit to giggle over.
Thanks for posting the setlist and the pictures, by the way; I'll remember the show much more clearly now!!

I was at Cleveland too, what a great show.
Very high energy, everyone was standing up the whole concert, and screaming like crazy, except for The Loneliest Guy, per David's request. :-)
I was a little saddened that we didn't hear a Days or Loving The Alien, but the show had so much energy I understand why he didn't want to slow down and play an acoustic song. Really, I couldn't have asked for a better show. wow!
