I believe there IS one - I can't wait for it either!!! That's my fav album...i wonder what we'll get for bonus tracks??? Probably 1984/Dodo, Candidate Demo, another version of Rebel Rebel, a few live tracks....

If you think we're gonna make it...

Re: Diamond Dogs Anniversary? new [re: whackamolefun]

There was a blurb in the Bowie special edition of Mojo about there being a 30th anniversary re-issue of DD. But no specifics, and I've heard nothing as to expected release date or anything.

I certainly hope it materializes. Hell, I'm gonna plunk down all this cash when BTWN gets re-released in the US on Jan. 13, and I'm not even that fond of that album. Now DD--THAT I can get into.

Anyone know any specifics as to release date or packaging (will it follow the booklet format of the anniversary editions of Ziggy and Aladdin)?

Presumably. Given the amount of speculation over it, evidenced by the repeated threads, noone knows much about it at the moment. It'd have to include Dodo and Candidate (Demo) but apart from that it's anyone's guess. If the previous issues are anything to judge by, though, there won't be much worthwhile on offer - maybe the bonus tracks from Pin-Ups and a few performances from David Live.

If it really is going to be a 30th Anniversary edition, could we logically assume it will be released April 24?

Re: Diamond Dogs Anniversary? new [re: whackamolefun]

This is always a good discussion, because we know that it would be a great bonus disc (1984/Dodo, Tragic Moments, Growin' Up, Rebel Rebel U.s. single, Dodo demo, Candidate demo, Rebel Rebel single mix, Big Brother edit, Diamond Dogs edit etc..) but dare not hope for all that.

We know EMI are not scared to give us the same DD stuff from the S+V box even though it was only out a couple of months ago (good for a complete bonus disc), but we also know they are capable of cocking up big style...

It was mentioned that the original plan for the 1999 reissues was to do them all as 2 disc sets including videos and extra, but scrapped because of time (which is SHOCKING considering the scrappy way they eventually came out... definitely rushed)

I really hope David Live isn't cut up and bits included as a bonus... indeed in that MOJO article, it was said it would come out soon. And I'm guessing they will finally put on the Rykodisc bonustracks plus the Panic In Detroit cut.

DD in the 'book' format would be a handsome issue with the wrap around cover... lets hope something beautiful happens deep in the EMI offices.

Re: Diamond Dogs Anniversary? [re: whackamolefun]

As mentioned by people on this threadI,It does say in Mojo that a DD anniversary edition will be released( according to some chap from EMI),I heard quite few tales about this release,And of course its one i've been waiting for,I've heard that its gonna contain a DVD of Bowies 1984/$in Drag TV Special( if this is the case? WOW!!!),As for bonus tracks???,Cynics will always say Dodo/1984 etc...,Ok they well maybe on it,But im hoping for some live tracks not off David Live( which is a brilliant album),Im hoping we are spared the likes of sodding Lulu lol,She makes my flesh crawl...
