Making your link clickable makes it easier for people to sign your petition.

If you don't have anything nice to say, go to London and say it in front of 2000 people. NM.

It used to make itself clickeable automathically, but now... I don't know what happened. And I hate markups, but anyway...

I got the Cracked Actor on a DVD-boot the other day, and it looks AWSOME. The quality in both sound and picture is fantastic. Some fantastic live-shots, interviews with David, and interviews with fans. A true must for a real fan! :).
A DVD release of the DD-tour, would've easily become one of the greatest live-DVD's ever.

Yeah, like BWW and Bowielive, but it seems that there's not a lot of people in the last one.

Re: The DD DVD petition needs more signatures new [re: Jubany]

From various sources and innuendo I've followed I can add a few things.

Every gig dating back late ziggy was recorded and videotaped for Bowie's private use(post show reviewing the next day) That's not to say that
A)They are releasable quality
B)They still exist
C)Bowie exclusively owns them(TD has an enormous stash of 69-74 related material, including most of what goes to auction sites like Sotherby's)

There is also the slim possibily that some stuff was properly recorded from 69-74 that Bowie does not know about. Anything is possible.

From all the Bios and internet stuff it would be easy to say that 3-6 '74 performances were fully, professionally recorded and videotaped. The problem is whether the performances and end result recordings were up to par. Another problem is how to piece all this stuff together since it all compleltely different sources(video, film, 8mm, 16mm, soundboards, audience tapes, 8 track recordings, philly tower tapes) The 74 video could a "collage" of different performances or everythgin kept authentic. I'd would hate to be the person responsible for putting it all together. I can see why Bowie has put it on the backburner for a couple decades.

I hope there is some 74 re-release activity this year. I'd buy it and it should all get great critical reviews. Everyone will have their opinion of Bowie's work turned upside down. Bowie's 74 work is unparalleled and like no-other in his own career. It's disappointed that it has been sweeped under the rug for so long.

At my most optimistic, I'd say we'd get a 20-30 minute DVD with the 30th edition of DD- that has a fairly predictable rarites disc.

BFP

PS the relase of the YA Cavett footage from 74 is a really positive sign that Bowie has warmed up to this period in his career. That footage would cost a decent penny in licensing fees, so good on Bowie for getting it.
