Which New Shows Are You Going To?

Well, after a convoluted attempt to get tickets for the May 20, 2004 show at the Murat in Indy, I finally scored two floor seats in row A (actually 3rd row) somewhere in the main/center section. Is anyone else here planning to go to that one? If not, which ones will you be attending? Just wondering.

BTW: I'm still broke... but my current plan is to file for bankruptcy, go to New York, find where Bowie lives -- then sit on his porch selling pencils out of a little cup with a big sign beside me that reads, "See What You Did".

But enough about me. Let's talk about you... What do you think of me?

I'm hoping to get tickets to see the show at the Labatt Centre. Then, I'll have seen David Bowie twice and all will be well in the world.

I saw him in Minneapolis, I've got 11th row seats for St. Louis down center, and I'll be buying tickets for Moline.

Life rocks.

I make no apologies for being fabulous.

I'll be going to the show in Denver. Took my wife to the first Denver show for her first Bowie concert and she was duly impressed. I wanted to take my daughter, too, but the Fillmore has this "must be 16+ years" rule and she is only 11. She was quite upset and I felt bad. Now I can take my daughter to this show so I'm very happy

<<kelowna?>>

Because Bryan Adams and Elton did gigs there and bowie is jealous. And because it's hicktown, it's cultaurally behind 15 years - so Bowie is godhead to them.

I got tickets for Ottawa & Quebec City - I think I got decent seats, but with a lack of a decent seating plan, who knows?
Row AA for one and 2nd row for the other...not sure if AA is behind or in front of Row A??? LOL Also, don't know if it's centre or off to the side, but I grabbed the seats anyway.

Am also waiting for the London ON pre-sale...would also like to go there. I've got crappy seats to Toronto show, so I'm hoping to make up with these.

cheers,

Only new show I'm adding will be the London, Ontario gig @ the John Labatt Centre - literally just up the road from my house. So far I saw him in Montreal (Dec. 13), Detroit (Jan. 9) - still to come: Toronto (April 1) and now London - still can't believe he's doing London. I'll be bringing my 10 yr old daughter to the London show - what can I say?.....she has good taste in music. She's excited about it.

I still have the rescheduled Boston show and I will also hopefully see Philadelphia (depending if I can still get a ticket) and the other day I bought a ticket for Scranton, PA.

I will probably get tickets for Uncasville again and Manchester, if indeed this place is near me.

I'll be in Boston. I wish I could go to the Uncasville one, but I am not stepping foot in Mohegan because they wouldn't let me cut thru one of the rooms to meet someone. So, I will just be at the Boston show. Pretty good seats, too.

Hopefully front row in Uncasville. I went to the first one and it rocked although I had crap seats way in the back, and most of the people were drunken asses. But Bowie was marvelous of course.
Does anyone know if it's harder to get good seats if you order more tickets? I have 5 other people going with me and I've been worried about it.

I guess it just depends on the venue. I saw Robin Williams in 2002, and that theater had the double letters up front. I was in row MM (13th row) for that. However, I have since seen theater diagrams that have this reversed. The only way to know for sure is to look at an accurate seating chart or call the venue itself!

But enough about me. Let's talk about you... What do you think of me?

Re: Which New Shows Are You Going To? new [re: Myriada]

By now you must all know my sad, sad story. I will be on a Greek Island for a week in April--the one week that Bowie will be playing multiple concerts in the Nortwest US and Western Canada. I'm only half kidding when I say I almost wish I weren't going to Greece, but it would have been nice to have caught a few more shows too.

In any event, after I return to the States on April 17, I've missed Bowie in Seattle, Portland and Berkeley--and I have a potential work conflict preventing me from going to Denver/Loveland for the April 25 show.

But . . . why should I let that stop me? So, I just got Row 2 Floor seats for that show! Hopefully the work conflict will disappear and I'll get to go. If it doesn't disapper, perhaps one of you lot can chance upon my great seats if I have to give them up. If I do have to give them up, it will be at cost if not below cost. I refuse to make a profit at the expense of another dedicated Bowie fan.

I was thinking of flying down to the Denver show on April 25th(my birthday) then spending a couple days in vegas and LA. Then see the Coachella Festival on May 1st and 2nd. The Fly Home. I'm trying to get the logistics figured out, and I'm not sure how possible it is, but it would be a hell of a lot of fun.

I have heard some Bowie rumours regarding the Coachella Festival. This is only because DB has a break in the schedule, there is a "surprise performer" and Db is a huge fan of some of the headliners(pixies, kraftwerk, cure etc.)

Hey you never know.

I also spent a great deal of money in time to see him in Chicago in 2002, which is about a six hour drive for me. It was totally worth it but I couldn't afford to do it all again. Now he's announced he'll be in St. Louis, which is only forty five minutes away. I'm not getting that excited until I actually get a ticket, but I'm gonna feel great if I do.

That would be an awesome addition to an already very cool list of performers. Either way it'll be one hell of a weekend.

But really, I'm glad he's not coming near me again...otherwise I'd have to spend even more money I don't have to see him again. I tried not to buy tickets for a second Reality show, and failed within 24 hours. It was worth the money, and probably failing my midterms too .

If I find a really good seat for the Indianapolis show, I'll probably go to that one too but for now I'm planning on Toronto and Columbus, OH. Unfortunately, the London, ON show is the day before my boyfriend's brother's wedding in TN so I probably won't be able to make that one, which sucks because I live pretty close to it. I think it's only about an hour from me. It's definitely the closest to me of the new shows.

Denver will be the "highest" gig on the entire tour. Though, I'm not sure if this would have a detrimental effect on his voice and energy.

One of main problems with the denver/coachella trip woulod be I need use of a car. I have heard that no companies rent out cars to those under 25, and I'm almost 24. Does anybody know if this is true? It's true for Western Canada.

I don't know about Canada but in the U.S. (in Florida at least), I've found that some companies rent cars to those between 21 and 25, but they charge extra. Sometimes you'll pay as much as twice the regular amount.

Re: Which New Shows Are You Going To? new [re: laughbritish]

I drove 6 hours to Chicago for 2 of the 3 shows there (damn, I wish I could've made the third). Flying there was out of the question, since the nearest airports to me are Nashville and St. Louis. (There is a local airfield, but flying out of there would've been more than the combined cost of those pricey Chicago tix.)

St. Louis is only about a 2 1/2 hour drive from me, so that's the one I'm aiming for now. I'd like to get in Kansas City, but that's probably around a 6 1/2 hour drive and I've used up a lot of my "honey, indulge me" tokens lately. Gotta see if I can talk my bitter half into it. Particularly since I used my "but I haven't seen him in nearly 7 years!" plea last time.

What a day! One hour, I'm down and out of luck for Bowie's April 16th Berkeley show.

Five hours later I find out a second show was added, it's not even listed at Pollstar yet... and YES! I have scored four tickets on the floor, together even!

Lesson here: Keep an eye on new shows if yours has empty dates nearby. This was obviously planned, as I am sure show #1 was expected to sell out, and the go-ahead to sell April 17th tix was likely given very soon after the sell out.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I'm going with my best friends too.... Yay!! I am a 42 year old teenager at present, just don't look too close.

I've often joked about that possibility, what with the high altitude and very dry air, but I really haven't seen it. I've seen Bowie in Denver a couple of times now and he seems fine. We got 29 tunes here on the first Reality show which is on the upper end of the scale. Given his energy and vitality, I think he has made some sort of deal with the devil...

Well I'll be...there's another CO show new [re: wannabebowie]

OK, so, clearly I'm WAY out of touch 'cause I just found out about the April 25th show, which I may or may not go to. But what confuses me is that everyone keeps referring to it as the "Denver" show, when according to the email I just got that alerted me to it, it appears to be in Loveland, which is about 1.5 - 2 hours away from Denver. If I do go, it will be largely 'cause it's in Loveland, which is close to where I live and which is a lovely little town.

So yeah, are y'all just referring to it as the Denver show 'cause that's the closest "big city"? (Actually, Cheyenne, WY is probably about as close). Or do I just continue to be out of touch?
