Why do so many of you females always pick that ugly bunch of twits?
Do we? Well, I do like the Beatles, too... especially Lennon. I just voted for the stones because I had some stuff by them. By stuff, I mean mainly a greatest hits recording of many of their older hits. I don't know, I just really like songs like "Sympathy for the Devil", "Ruby Tuesday", and "Paint it Black". While the Beatles always struck me as kind of reserved and thoughtful, the stones rock.
BTW: I agree that they are ugly. You'll get no argument from me there!
King Henry V: Canst thou love me? Princess Katherine: I cannot tell. King Henry V: Can any of your neighbors tell, Kate? I'll ask them.

Beatles.
A Beatle gave us Fame. A Stone gave us Dancing in the Street.

However, the same Beatle also gave us Across The Universe, though I suppose that would probably be balanced by Let's Spend The Night Together.

Well, "Dancing in the Streets" was a re-make, so you can't credit him for it entirely...
I've never had a problem with that one personally. Sure it had a silly video, but it was supposed to be silly. It got a lot of play on the video shows I used to watch -- that's all I know -- something Bowie could use a bit more of these days!

John Lennon wrote it indeed, and one can find it on the Beatles' White Album.
My faves are Tomorrow Never Knows and I Am The Walrus, but singing about his warm gun just cracks me. In the 60's on an album that was sure to sell millions.

the stones gave us Let's Spend the Night Together, the beatles gave us I Wanna Hold Your Hand. Stones, Satisfaction. Beatles, The Long and Winding Road. Brown Sugar, Love Me Do.... It's just not the same somehow, the beatles are a bit too sugar coated...the stones are much more REAL and sensual.
