The "now" is already a part of the experimentation. I find that pretty clear.
Well I don't. I don't find it pretty clear at all that you can be heading for where you already are or that something can be before itself.

David Bowie, pushing 60, has said he's headed for another spell of experimentation.
Now, he said, he wants to focus on his song writing and singing
you're assuming he's implying experimentation is inherently better than what he's doing now. which i don't think he means at all. plus, i think the title of the story is an indicator, no? if someone is eating a sandwich, i wouldn't ask them if they were ready for a sandwich
maybe the australian leg invigorated him

This has gotta be a reaction to suggestions of a "new York Trilogy", he never likes to be predictable - Can't wait to see what he'll do now.

Am I the only one who is worried about this? If Bowie is learning to embrace his age, evident in world-weary albums such as Hours and Heathen, then why go back to making possible mistakes? I just want him to go grow old gracefully and not ponce around making experiementational albums again. I don't want 2.Decontamination and touring with NIN.

You probably are. Bowie's mistakes are Tonight, Never Let Me Down and Hours. Albums where he didn't risk losing his fans. Albums where he didn't experiment.

Exactly. If you don't want Bowie to experiment, you don't get Bowie at all. Who wants another Reality?

It will be interesting to see if he will use the tail end of the reality tour as a testing ground for new ways to go about it. Ideally the festival gigs where I suppose he'd have less pressure to deliver a perfect show.

"I'm heading for another period of experimentation," he said. "(I'm at) a time when I'm collecting myself before I break all my own rules."
What a wonderful news!
