considering the mauling NLMD gets by fans, the press and Bowie, i was suprised when he worked again with both Erdal and David Richards. I like both albums, bring back erdal.

It seems that every Bowie producer with the exception of Hugh Padgham / Derek Bramble (Tonight) has had a chance to redeem themselves with a half decent to very good album. Those two only have words (and cock sucking albums by Sting) in which to defend their innocense.

BOS was the album that got Eno interested in working with Bowie again.
Is this true? I thought I heard David say, years ago, that they were talking about that somebody needed to stir up the music business and decided amongst themselves that they were the men for the job. So the Bowie-Eno collaboration was arranged even before BTWN was finished.
And to the ones lobbying their own experimental album, be it Low, Heroes, Outside or whatever. If he repeats one of those, he's not experimenting much. It's time for something brand new.
Oh, and Bowie is fully capable of shocking us still. I was deeply shocked by Hours.

As Tina Turner said way back in 84, "We don't need another Heroes", mind you she then went on to murder Tonight
But Seriously, even when David has looked at the past for inspiration, he always keeps one eye on the future. And no way can anyone compare "A reality tour" to a Status Quo hits package, they gave up making new music nearly 20 years ago, they bring out the odd new album but they are mainly covers.

Would be great for him to deliver another experimental album. Very exciting. Heathen and Reality have definetely got him in rock's good books again, and he's probably feeling ready to risk it all again.
Also Reality was specifically built to tour and i doubt he will do another world tour any time soon, if at all. So i think we may well see something a bit edgier than before.
Its about time I had a signature

I wonder if Mike Vernon is free then, that WOULD be experimenting.

He appears to still be alive so that's a start (turns 70 this year). Just reading his profile at allmusic. It appears that the David Bowie album was very uncharacateristic for him given that he was mainly a blues producer.

I had wondered if he was still alive, never really heard much about him, except that he produced "David Bowie". Listening to the David Bowie story (1993 bbc radio1) they go into a lot of detail about this album, fascinating stuff.
