Oh yeah, duh (to myself), about the Botox thing. I forgot that it makes it impossible to move your face, therefore that most likely isn't what he used to get rid of wrinkles. Once, years ago on Geraldo I saw some procedure where they shoot something at your face that they said was water, and it erases lines. They tested it on Geraldo and it really worked! It was so weird. Ever since then I've wondered what that was.

This is what botox looks like, I think. I can't imagine what else it could have been. Probably serious facial surgery or something similar, but botox is the most likely option, anyway-

Bowie looks great in those shots. However, to put in my 2 cents worth, I simply DO NOT believe that Bowie has ever had a FULL facelift! there simply was never a time when Bowie looked old and then looked young the next time we saw him. As for Botox, I dont think so, the facial movement was a good enough argument for that. Bowie Does look his age and he does have slight lines on his face but that is NATURAL and I applaud Bowie for sort of "Letting it all hang out" sometimes, and for letting people know that u dont have to look 20 to be fucking great looking.

Do you really think Mr Bowie is that shallow
Its make-up, plain and simple, the sooner you realize that the better.

I don't get your point, boguswoman. What are those pictures supposed to prove? First of all, they do not look very current. If I had to guess, I'd say they were taken between 1990 and 1993--we were all younger then.

No, you all misunderstood me. Those pictures were not meant to ''prove'' anything. They are captures from the video which was taken in december 14 1995, if I'm not mistaken. I just wanted to show that the possibility of him having botox injections was quite likely then, but not now. If you look more carefully, you'll notice that it's obvious that Bowie's facial expressions are not nearly as ''expressive'' as usually. Having seen the video itself, I can say that it's even more visible there. Besides, his face looks unnaturally smooth even if he had lots of make up on. Plus, it looks unnaturally shiny and I believe that it's the sign of botox or something similar. And I've also seen the Bridge School Benefit concert video that was taken in 1996 not so long after that. Bowie looks so much older there that it makes it seem almost unbelievable that his looks could have been completely natural in that 1995 concert.
B.T.W. I don't believe that Bowie's had major facial lift or botox injections lately, either. But it seems quite believable that he's had something done several years ago.

Hello, i think it is a good and interesting topic!
For a long time i thought DB had gone under the knife. His lips do look very weird. But i thought, as he is wearing so much make up, he has lost his natural shape and features that define his face! They are all hidden under foundation. So, in theory, you get an old shaped face, minus the wrinkles. But, when you see a picture of DB at an air port, or about NYC, you see that without the make up, he has a perfectly matured face. It is all in proportion. His mouth has dropped, lips thinner, curled inwards. His eye brows and skin around his eyes, has dropped. All perfectly normal. He looks fine. I hope i look like DB when i am in my 40's, let alone 50's

Ok, now I see your point boguswoman, thanks for clarifying.
I have not seen the '95 video of which you have attached stills, so I can't comment on whether David's facial movement was limited or stiff--the pictures look like that might be a possibility, or they might have just caught him in the middle of a bad expression.
In any event, if he did have Botox then, I'm glad he's abandoned it now. I've seen him up close in concert several times this year, and he DOES NOT have Botox. Part of what I love about him is his emotive performance of his songs--I would be one unhappy camper if a wooden-faced Bowie showed up in concert. So, if he tried Botox before, good riddance, I say. I like his lines and his cute facial expressions.
Last, while Botox CAN result in an overly smooth appearing face, it cannot make a face shiny--that's foundation and sweat (from being under hot stage lights).

> even his hands looked fairly youthful, and those are the first to age as mentioned previously.
lol, isn't it funny our different perspectives - i would say that, speaking from experience, although hands get skinner, it's the skin at the corner where the top of the neck meets the jaw that loses its elasticity first. I would say that he is such a master of stage presence, including looking and moving young, like clowns once their costume is on!
