Bowie wasn't the one that trumpeted it, it was Blammo. Yeah, it's Bowie's site, but he's not the one putting up the news. Besides, it was exciting, given that the last one was in July of '03, I think. Bowie was just posting about what they were currently doing, and "The Supermen" was what they were currently working on and something he was excited about at the time. Hence, he mentioned it.
I make no apologies for being fabulous.

Why you gotta start ripping on Frank?
It was purely for the benefit of No Control. I take it that Frank's lyrics are fine in a certain context but I think my original point (that Zappa worshippers may not always be predisposed to liking the subtleties of TMWSTW) was probably better. As you point out, it's a different kettle of fish. I just don't expect one to necessarily appreciate the other, hence why No Control can find Zappa completely tolerable but write off what is possibly the finest lyrical album of all time as 'shit'. I am sure that No Control is bound to disagree as always.

he penned some of the most scathing satirical lyrics ever. Lyrics need not rhyme and be cryptic to be genius
Nah, I don't think he was that good. I admire a lot of his lyrics' criticisms of American politics and western culture, but I don't think they're really all that well constructed. He was at his most scathing in his activism rather than his music.
But hey, I'm no doubt listening to the "wrong albums" .
He's the son of a bad man...
