This is strange

Does anyone know anything about THIS?

No, although I do suspect that this will be the same early version of "New Angels of Promise" (aka Omikron) which has been traded around the internet and sourced from the actual game (instead of the line 'suspicious minds, you didn't feel us coming...', Bowie sings 'Omikron, you didn't feel us coming....'). The authenticity of it being a limited edition promo, however, could perhaps be verfied by the people at Quantic Dream if anyone is inclined to contact them.

The other reason why I think this is New Angels of Promise is because I remember hearing the song quite some time before Hours and in specific reference to the game. If I recall correctly, Bowie and Reeves were discussing their involvement and previewing the song at some kind of press conference for The Nomad Soul.

That promo would be a nice addition to a Bowie collection. The soundtrack to Omikron was being shared at BA week before last. Much better than hours (imo).

If you don't have anything nice to say, go to London and say it in front of 2000 people. NM.

I am with Adam here: "The song Omikron" - what a load of utter bull. I cannot possibly imagine that there was a promo released with a hitherto unknown song on it, and people like Pegg would be totally ignorant about it. In my opinion the seller is close to committing fraud.

I have a feeling this is legit, and I guess the best bet is that it is indeed the early version of New Angels Of Promise.

I believe it's legit because the disc looks professionally printed (see the shiny QuanticDream logo on the disc?) - not something you would do for a scam.

Re: This is strange new [re: Adam]

It's irrelivent if it sucked or not. It would still make a nice addition to the Bowie collection. Hell, I just bought 3 Bowie 8-track tapes. I don't own an 8 track though. :(

Re: This is strange new [re: heathenpunkgirl]

there IS a song called Omikron, because I actually owned the game and ini the intro it is a song what is the same as New Angels Of Promise, but with the word "Omikron" instead of "Suspicious Minds" in the chorus

It has more details in the book, alas I no longer own the game, this was in 2001

There is also a bit of discussion concerning authorship in this thread.

In reply to:

Omikron (New Angels of promise)

Right. So when the seller writes

the song Omikron has not been released (to my knowledge!!)

then (s)he is, technically, correct (not counting the inclusion of it in the game, which however was indeed officially released!) but I consider it an outright lie, nevertheless.
This does not mean that I don't understand that such a promo can still be very valuable. I'm sure it is. I shall be content to download these versions from Bowieaudio right now. (I forgot to do it before.)
