Bowie is kind of sickening really new

There is something about Bowie that is really a turn off. Everything goes his way, he gets everything he wants. Every girl wants to fuck him, every musician wants to work with him, everyone comments about how elegant he is.

It must be really something to be that lucky, to be born with that kind of charisma. To walk through a world where every door immediately opens. And to grow to expect that.

There are many David Bowies in this world. It's easy to see how the cross of Christ would be anathema to them.

When Christ said, "Blessed are the poor, blessed are the meek," he wasn't referring to the rich and proud who trust their own wiles in this world.

Didn't he once have interesting things to say, or has time rewritten every line?

We are kind of sickening really new [re: Gnasher]

We are all perverted Elton John fans who started a message board where we constantly slag off Bowie in order to trick innocent Bowie fans into believing that Bowie is bad.

Either that, or this is the rare case of a fan site where criticism and balanced discussion about our favourite artist is quite common; a feature that we cherish and which we believe distinguishes this site from all the other sickeningly sweetened Bowie-worship MBs.

That said, I find pianocraft's post quite weird and I'm not sure I agree with it. As usual.

Re: Bowie is kind of sickening really new [re: pianocraft]

I know what you mean, pianocraft.
Pure beauty and seeming perfection are always near-scandalous (see Billy Budd).
So often, good looks make things so easy for one that one is not motivated enough to develop skills beyond a certain level. So seeing someone as handsome as Bowie being such a great artist as well is nearly too much, especially when they seem so happy on top.
But your message should be put in context. In the '70s Bowie's personal life was so unfulfilled that his position was probably far less enviable than now. During the '80s he may have been happier on a personal level but he was mostly disoriented artistically, so that on the whole it was hardly any better I suppose.
But the 1990s and 2000s David Bowie seems flawless, I have to admit.
Bye bye.

Wear your wound with honour.

Reminder new [re: ladystardust1989]

You are 14 years old. Are you sure you want to engage in sexual relations with someone 43 years older?

I think she's after the 'name' and 'image' aspect of the sexual relation.
