I guess I was confused, too. I was thinking of this one...

The US edition (Griffin GCD-382-2; bottom), released in 1995, came with totally different artwork.

Should I delete my poll?

Re: Iiiiican't get any higher than that. new [re: diamondogz74]

That's the one i have got.
I once bought a second copy and gave it to a friend as a present but my friend (who had seen my copy and liked the cover obviously) was not pleased because it had a different cover , some other picture that i can't recall.

I like Space oddity from the 50 Birthday concert very much but I also like the one from the 1980 Floor Show.

My favourite is the Sound and vision tour version. , Great opener, great bass line, great voice, great belew's work. The version from 50th birthday is lifeless and tired in comparaison.

I agree that version is terrific but Im not keen on Bowie's band for that tour, they look too interested in themselves to be a band per se.

ocean yes nice version on 1980 Floorshow

From The Master new [re: diamondogz74]

In reply to:

What was the name of the boot please EJ?

That was the marvellous "His Master's Voice", highlights from the Hammersmith Farewll show on vinyl. Remember: This was a time when no Ziggy MoPic Soundtrack was released and when the film had not been shown worldwide in cinemas nor was available on VHS. And the boot includes the Bowie/Spiders/Beck collaboration on "The Jean Genie" plus Bowie's Full Farewell Speech and not that edited version we got with Ziggy MoPic!

That was certainly the most moving record I have ever bought. It made me hear something from a world that fascinated me and of which I had only had the chance to read about before. Revelation.

And I want to believe

Re: Fav live version of 'Space Oddity' new [re: diamondogz74]

I don't think anyone's mentioned the one from L.A on 5/9/74 (whichever boot - I have Super Golden Radio Shows and Strange Fascination on Cd and deluxe LP - equally good quality). That's the best version, with Earl's guitar very heavy and to the fore.

It is an amazing show, though, and even better than David Live, so I'm not surprised.

Yes it's a pity they don't include the full farewell speech I agree and I didn't know about "Jean Genie" either

I have the Wealth and Authority boot which I think is the same as Strange Fascination and I agree it is very good.

'Round And 'Round new [re: diamondogz74]

They performed The Jean Genie (medleyed with Love Me Do as was usual on the last leg of the tour) and 'Round And 'Round as a part of the encore. For some reason (Beck didn't like his performance?) those tracks haven't been officially released.

That is indeed a great shame, maybe oneday?
