Does that include back hair?
No, we're strictly talking head hair here. As far as back or chest hair goes, he's almost entirely without, but as far as his head goes, he looks like he's got a wild bush growing up there.

Say your origins were from a colder climate, more hair. Warmer climate, less hair.
Hmmm. I don't think it works that way at all. How do you explain hairy Italians, Greeks, Turks, and Arabs?--They all hail from hot climates. Yet I don't see a lot of overly hairy Swiss walking around.
I'm Greek and although I like the thick hair on my head, I detest having to shave my legs all the time. My sister and I used to joke that they need to make Nair (the hair remover) in "Mediterranean strength."

You're right, my theory is flawed. However, I still think there is some credence to it, though one would have to look at a lot of data to find any links. In the case of say, Greeks. Perhaps that type of hair is better as a heat shield (black) and promotes sweating to keep the body cool. You could then compare that hair to those of someone from Iceland and see what function, body hair has in that climate. However, I'm not an anthropologist or trained scientist by any stretch. If I can find anything to back up my idea, I'll post it.
It is my opinion and I am unanimous in this, because it is my opinion, which is, in fact, mine.

zigbot, what I neglected to factor in is skin color. The theory on hair density I just read factors in the need for UV protection. Africa, dark-skinned thus ideal UV protection and little visible body hair. Greece, light-skinned not so good for UV protection so thicker body hair is required for that protection. Norway, little UV protection needed, so light-skinned, but additional body hair for insulation.

I would assume that, if not for the drugs, he would be bald or balding by now. Or maybe if one always changes one's hairdo, it lasts longer or something?

I heard something sort of supporting that once; where your hair gets "used" to one style and will thin-but this was about women wearing thier ponytail band in one place all the time-I don't believe we shall ever see bowie with a ponytail...
