The Man Who Sold The World was released in late 1970 in US (early 1971 in the UK), so technically speaking '78 was the only year without a new studio album.

I don't think it is going to happen next year. It seems he is going to take a longer break between albums now. That is just the feeling I get...

Besides, I don't believe in this numbers thing. It is all chance if he happens to release an album next year. The fans seem more obsessed with the meaning behind things and the predictions than Bowie could ever be!

No, but he could very well be thinking, "ok, it's my 60th birthday coming up, if I release an album to coincide with it'll get a lot of additional publicity because of the birthday".

On the other hand, if he wanted to release an album in time for his birthday, he'd better start hurrying if the production times of his two previous albums are something to judge by. Unless he has already recorded stuff in secret (unlikely) or plans to pull a Buddha and record the album in two weeks (but even then he'd need time for all the hoobla after recording the album, so he'd have to get on with it soonish anyway).

Even if there won't be an album in 2007, I wonder if there'll be a 60th Birthday bash? Which, hopefully, would this time really be a retrospective of Bowie's career, unlike the 50th Birthday Bash.

Perhaps, but I don't think Bowie will ever be keen on career retrospective type things because once you start doing that it's almost like signaling you're dead as an artist.

That's fine, but apart from your own believe, it's most important in what good ol' David believes.

And although he doesn't like to display it as openly as e.g. Madonna, David's a heathen with a strong interest in the Kaballah.

So let's find out next year if David believes in this 7 stuff.
