I think anisette is saying that Bowie's pic has a close resemblance to a turkey. You two will win the profundity award at this year's TW Best Posts Awards. The MC will be Monkeyboy.

I think he's looking pretty damn good in this "screen-cap." It makes me feel me feel much better about the chance of fututre material. I mean, christ, imagine if he just looked old and sickly! This picture shows a man who still has some life (material) left in him!
yeah, yeah. '! ! !' all over the place. but i'm genuiney excited!

The singer of the Killers has the same mustache as Bowie's movie character.
The killers are also doing a version of Bowie's "Rock and Roll With Me" at their recent MTV club gig that was televised

Is Bowie doing any press for this movie? Beyond showing up for a premier and perhaps sitting down for some fluff EPK interview?

No, he's not doing any press. And he didn't even show up for the premier, which was in LA. He attended an advance "showing" in NYC at a party in honor of Hugh JAckman, though.
Great movie, and since the plot was changed enough from that in the great book, it was great fun to be suspensful both in reading the book and in seeing the film. Just enough changes to keep me guessing where the Nolan brothers were going with the plot.

Lightning Frightening...Bowie is electric as Nikola Tesla in America's top grossing film, The Prestige.
I believe in magic...
Congratulations are due to David Bowie and everybody else involved with The Prestige with the news that the film has beaten all projections and become the highest grossing film in America.
The Prestige was up against strong competition at the box office this past weekend, but the fact that it took almost $15 million was enough to secure the top spot.
Here follows the estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Exhibitor Relations Co. Inc:.
01 ~ The Prestige $14.8 million. 02 ~ The Departed $13.7 million. 03 ~ Flags of Our Fathers $10.2 million. 04 ~ Open Season $8 million. 05 (tie) ~ Flicka $7.7 million. 05 (tie) ~ The Grudge 2 $7.7 million. 07 ~ Man of the Year $7 million. 08 ~ Marie Antoinette $5.3 million. 09 ~ The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning $3.9 million. 10 ~ The Marine $3.7 million.

It would be a fairly safe assumption to say this is the first film featuring Bowie to have come close to topping the US box office chart. This could turn out to be a defining moment for his future career.

Good point. According to this page, Zoolander opened solidly charting at number 2 in it's opening week and grossed 15.5 million. I guess the distinction is that Bowie is playing a more significant acting role rather than cameo.

I'm sure it could, i just hope he doesn't leave music alone for much longer. Can't wait for the film to open in the UK.

I would image TMWFTE did some reasonable business. Are there any, even remotely, accurate numbers?
I don't think they had nationwide film openings until the JAWS/Star Wars era in the late 70's.
