This is quite interesting, as this is one of the only Bowie albums I have no opinion on sonically... unlike STS and ZS (as is well documented on these pages) all issues sound warm as the quality of the music is such.

Well this is a tricky one. The 2007 5.1 surround version leaves all the others for dead, however the stereo CD that is also included in the package is the worst I've heard. Very dull and bass heavy. I'm not sure why that disc was included in the package.
The 5.1 mix is excellent. Hopefully a few more Bowie albums will be given that treatment. Low & Scary monsters would be good to hear in 5.1, along with Diamond dogs, Aladdin Sane & Outside. Ziggy Stardust could do with a proper 5.1 mix. Maybe Tony could have a go at fixing it up.

Is the 2007 cd the same master as the 1999 cd?
Does the stereo DVDA mix floor the original vinyl?

The Legend 'Remastered byPeter Mew @ Abbey Road' makes me shudder. That guy destroyed the 1999 issues.

Well it's been more than 20 years since I last listened to my vinyl copy and I haven't listened to the stereo DVD-A mix as there's really no point when you have such a good 5.1 mix.

Yes but the 5.1 surround mix is crap. It needs to be redone.

Why have someone who had nothing to do with the original mix it though?
