I'm undecided. But I will say I rate Pin Ups over Lodger and Heroes.

We've come up with some ridiculous formats over the years, but I've got to award you with a special trophy for this one, Adam.

I think you're confused Adam. You've actually divided them into thirds, since there are only three groupings. Quadruple thirds is what you have here, m'boy.

yes, i'd put very album before Young Americans in the Early Years category. Bowie made a continental shift wif Young Americans.. Oops, pun intended. He's quoted as saying "Station to Station was like a plea to return to Europe". and then this; "I'm tired of narrative song-writing", which he said soon after Diamond Dogs. So i put Station to Station and Young Americans in the Middle Years, if it has to have a nomer, and then the rest of the 70s album in the later years. All that said, i have to vote for the Early Years, because there are four spectacular albums ( Space Oddity, TMWSTW, Hunky Dory, Ziggy ) in a row. The Man was unbeatable.

I'm with you there. Pin-ups is way under-rated. Listen to it again, he does those songs way better than the originals.

I actually disagree with the grouping of the albums too. Bowie's classic period was the one when he had the red shag haircut: Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Pinups, and Diamond Dogs.
This is his classic period, consisting of these 4 albums. Of this, there can be no dispute.
