After the second furlong, Outside is in the lead on 24 points, followed by Buddha on 18 points, Heathen on 15, BTWN on 13 and Earthling on 11.

Adam, I'm starting to think you might really be the biggest Bowie fan out of all of us.
Seriously, I'm kinda scared. You been feeling okay?

1. The Buddha Of Suburbia 2. Earthling 3. Outside 4. Heathen 5. Tin Machine II
Pain is hearing Bowie and Mickey Rourke trading rap lines on 'Shining Star (Making My Love)'. Yes, the actor Mickey Rourke makes an appearance on a David Bowie album credited as "rapper".

Oh, I forgot it's daytime in your half of the world right now. You and your "time zones".
Guess I should cast my vote, eh? Alright, here goes.
1. Outside: Not just Bowie's best album since Scary Monsters, but one of his best ever, period.
2. Tin Machine: This is probably not gonna sit well with some people, but I've always had a soft spot for this album. Plus, I want to do whatever I can to make sure this doesn't lose to Earthling (one of my least favourite albums since Scary Monsters).
3. Buddha Of Suburbia: I really can't think of how to explain this choice, other than: "well, duh."
4. Heathen: Took a while to grow on me, but the last four tracks on this really are as good a sequence of songs as anything in Bowie's back catalogue. And the production really does sound wonderful.
5. "...hours": The first Bowie album I ever bought at the store - I must've been ten years old. Nostalgia and my love of unusual choices overrides the fact that it's not actually that great (I do actually think it's pretty good, though).

1.Earthling 2.Outside 3.Black Tie 4.Reality 5.Buddha
I choose these for now but Heathen could have been in this list as well as Let's Dance or Tin Machine.
For my number one, I have always loved the guitar squall, noises and beats of Earthling. It also has a fun attitude and great songcraft.

Filling the two bottom slots was hard. BTWN has Jump they say, but virtually no other good music on it. Buddha I actually don't "get" - it just makes me fall asleep. Let's Dance has this professionality and good spirits to it, and we shouldn't forget that songs like Modern Love are among Bowie's finest. But in the end, Reality does have Fall Dog Bombs the moon, Pablo Picasso, and a few other high points that I actually think are quite brilliant. And I do love guitars; I listen to the TM albums a lot more than any of the eighties stuff, and among the two, TM2 is much more interesting, albeit very uneven. (I still hold One Shot to be Bowie's worst song ever!)
Mattis on Bowieaudio did an interesting thing; considering that many people actually don't rate Scary Monsters very high, he polled for the "best album since Lodger". The format he did it in - an ordinary poll so you could just choose one - still meant that SM won, but not by a landslide IIRC, with Outside getting the rest of the votes.
It's LABRYNTH, idiot!

I don't like these things... half the newbies who are voting haven't heard all the albums.
Anyway, it's a bit of fun:
1) Let's Dance 2) Tin Machine 3) Earthling 4) Never Let Me Down 5) Tin Machine 2
