|
|
|
How about a compilation of Bowie's most bizarre, "pretentious" or challenging work. This oughtta' clear the room.

Stone/I Am With Name -We Prick You -Little Wonder -Seven Years In Tibet -Sunday -Pablo Picasso -Loneliest Guy -Bring Me The Disco King (remix)

the most obvious addition would be i would be your slave, complete pile of pretentious garbage. i would say overall daddy's work is quite high on pretentiousness, but sometimes pretentious turns out quite good (loving the alien, thru these architect's eyes, or almost any of his movie roles). also, any name-dropping song could potentially be on that list, which means at least half of hunky dory.

Yeah but Hunky Dory sucks.
We Prick You is a very worthy addition, I'd also add Chant Of The Ever Circling Skeletal Family.

I can't wait for new material either.
The long wait somehow forces Bowie to make another huge musical "statement."
He spoiled us rotten in the 90's with so much eccentric brilliance followed by three "classic" rock albums.
Since his inspiration is truly with family/home-life I could envision some sort of updated whimsical domestic-art-rock a' la' Hunky Dory meets Ram-era McCartney.....
or I'd love to see him abandon "rock" altogether & work with different re-mixers/producers for each individual song and come out with another explosive modern electronic-sax-funk album+

Actually, Outside only had 19 tracks.

and The Buddha of Suburbia....
...this along with Outside and Earthling contain some of his most fluid, edgiest work.
