Do you have a Bowie ringtone on your mobile phone?

I just got Ashes to ashes. 30 seconds of the chorus, "Ashes to ashes ... all time low", plus a few of the ensuing synth notes. Not sure if i'm so happy about it, next time I will get something with a riff instead.

I went to a restaurant that serves 'breakfast at any time'. So I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance.

Since my phone's alarm is broken, I use a midi tune of Ashes To Ashes because for some reason one of the tracks (proabably bass) of it creates an eerie tune played by the vibration itself.


And yes - I still use a mobile which just can play midi.

I don't know how to install ringtones, but I always wanted a cutesy ringtone version of the opening rif of Ziggy. "Do - do - do do do do do - do - do."

At the moment I use the jaunty medieval fairy music that came with the phone.

I had the "Let's Dance" guitar jangle as a ringtone because of that ultra bright, snappy and cool sound. I think that is one of the few Bowie riff's that has a 'ringtone' quality about it. I can see Ashes to Ashes with that kind of noticeabilty along with maybe Look Back in Anger and Little Wonder since they all can 'catch' a listener's ear from the get-go. I haven't tried finding a part from the middle of one of his songs but maybe I'll take a song apart with my ringtone maker app.

Currently I have Neu!'s Isi with it's playful, tremolo synth to remind me that some fucker's want my money.

If I could stand having a cellphone I would use the Moonage Daydream riff (that one)... for a few days at least, until I got fed up with it.

Yeah, that's right, I didn't bother to find out how to make my own ringtone so I had to find a pre-existing one; that's why I have the chorus of Ashes to ashes rather than (as I had preferred) the intro.
