Mistake new [re: zigbot]

They got the Best Of Bowie out alright, didn't they? It was just Black Tie White Noise that suffered from poor planning.

Apparently there will be four easter egg tracks on disc 2

i never understood the idea behind hiding eastereggs when you tell which and how many they are. it was a nice feature on the first dvds where you got something unexpected, outtakes etc. which were substandard compared to the average content but still funny to find. but simply hiding some extras one could expect anyway does not make them more special or more worth buying.

Who Wants That? new [re: th0mas]

I have said before: I don't pay loads of money for DVDs to search for the stuff that's on it. Complete nonsense and not entertaining at all.

And I want to believe

Re: Who Wants That? new [re: EJSunday]

The point of hte Easter Eggs is not so much to "make you look for it" but as a bonus to fans. Casual fans who pick it up will most likely not have read these reports on Bowie message boards and thus will not get this added material. It's like a bonus track for people who earn it.

The reason these songs are not just being incorporated into the main set of disc 1 is that they will be edited together completely with the small black and white cameras that are stationary and possitioned on each band member. They are said to have a "more underground feel."

I'll be seeing YOU in New York, Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, Kansas City, St. Louis, Washington DC, Moline, Columbus, Wantagh, and Holmdel. So dress sharp.

But having to play a DVD through just to see one alternate take is a bit excessive (BoB).

Yeah, but searching for the same thing over and over again is nonsense. Once found it should stay with you.

Interesting new [re: EJSunday]

I think Peter Gabriel had the solution on his first CD-ROM. Basically, at some point when you had done enough searching, a little animated Gabriel would appear congratulating you and offering presents (effectively a bunch of computer files, icons, wallpapers, etc) that are unencoded from the CD and placed on your hard drive. Now whether DVD technology has enough compute power to determine whether certain Easter Eggs have been found and then automatically add them to a Main Index? That might be cool.

Yeah, Peter Gabriel is a clever man. Shame his music isn't better.

Having to wait 5 minutes each time I want to hear the Miracle Goodnight remix is frustrating as well. Easter Egg's are ok if you just need to move left on a menu or something simple.
