Mash-Up Contest Winners
|
|
|
The winners of the Bowie Mash-Up Contest have been announced, and they are:
Big Shaken Car by David Choi Picasso Lies by SteveD Major Tom Is A Lucky Guy by Love Digit
Now presumable these three tracks will be making up Bowie's next single.
Personally, I think the choices are abysmal! Big Shaken Car is admittedly a good track, and Major Tom Is A Lucky Guy is technically interesting but bollocks as a song. Picasso Lies is just pure crap. The big question however is: where the hell is King Of Fame? In my opinion it was definately the best of the mash-ups (OK, maybe not technically overtly challanging, but very well made and an excellent take on two classic tracks), and I was quite convinced if any track was going to be the winner it would be that one.
Disclaimer: The above paragraph (from 'personally' onwards) is my own opinions and them alone. I do not claim them to be the general fan opinion on these tracks.

Well thats our Sys for us, he's a responcible trend setter you know best to play safe with names of songs.
I adore "Rebel Never Gets Old" if you view MTV every saturday evening from 19.00 hrs BST, you will see 30 mins of FAB mash-ups, i guess this programme is new-ish?, the best mash-up I saw this evening was Paul Weller and S Club 7, this is very inventive and quite addictive listening.
Take a look next Saturday, BTW the winner this week was Craig David and Frankie Goes To Hollywood, the stranger the combination! the better it works, most odd

So are any of the non-winners going to be avaliable elsewhere? I haven't been able to hear any of them thanks to my stupid computer's refusal to play any form of streaming media, and I'd like to hear them dang blast it.

Does anybody else find it odd that the Audi contest winner won with his contribution "Big Shaken Car"?
Perhaps, in the spirit of the contest, David Choi with "mash-up" his car!!!! Joking!!!!

Aww, man. Boys Keep Looking For Water got shafted. Oh well. Big Shaken Car was my second favourite.
Tin Machine rules, bitches!!! See? Billy Idol gets it. I don't know why she doesn't get it.

either there instead of a real lead single for his next album - because as we all know his record company is interested in selling and no new bowie track will sell as good as any of his "best of bowie" classics. at least they don't dare to try it with proper PR work - or they will just release Reality once more with all three winning songs, just in case some fan wants to buy the album for a fourth or fifth time - which i guess is just an attempt to get some gold record for the album or some marketing stuff like that.
why can't a rockstar who is as cool as bowie have a cool marketing? is it him who is unable to keep some release schedule or is it them who are just afraid to lose money and image?
