Finally read it through. Took me almost a month.
One thing that strikes me is how stupid everybody except Bowie and Bolan looked in those clothes. Slade, Sweet, Chicory Tip... all I see is a bunch of English blokes dressed up in ridiculous clothes. They don't look convincing. Yet they were stars.
Hm, the music press seemed to be pretty sceptical towards Bowie. Already around the times of Aladdin Sane they proclaimed his death as a star. 
...and my sentiments towards Slade have somewhat warmed. Not that I started to like their music (or spelling, indeed). But they come across as really nice and sincere people. (In contrast to Bowie...)

Hey, you've got to admit that some of Bowie's suits were pretty stupid. And I thought the guys in Roxy Music looked just fine.

Well yes, there was that skintight multicoloured abomination that he used during Aladdin Sane tour which almost looked like a bizarro woolunderwear from hell. You know which one i'm talking about.
As for Roxy, the band was a mixed bag. Ferry's loungelizard attire and Eno's ostrich chic looked fabulous but the other ones were a bit bland. Except Phil Manzanera who looked absolutely ridicilous with his bugglasses.
Bolan and Harley on the other hand looked good in just about every costume imaginable.
Just to let you know, i'm utterly pissed and writing these few sentences is harder than Claude's cock.
I didn't wittnes most of the recent smutflow, did I miss anything? The guy in front of the mirror says I did.
