What is this? Bowie reissues that aren't total ripoffs? Best news i've heard in a long time, absolutely brilliant.

I hope there are new pictures , especially with the DVD audio versions of these albums. I've been especially looking forward to David Live- hoping there would be some more Diamond Dog tour information and pictures. This is excellent news! Too bad we've got to wait about 6 months for them though.

In reply to:
Does the DVD audio format possess the ability to have multiple layers or something?
there is the possibility of several soundtracks. In reply to:
Will it possess the setero, 5.1 and original vinyl mixes?
it would make sense to have stereo AND 5.1, maybe even dts, but that's an extra. In reply to:
Providing DVDA will play on my DVD player I think I'll invest in that option since my DVD player is connected to my stereo anyway.
dvd audios don't play in dvd video players. but since the dvd audio format itself is pretty much dead, i guess it's like the REM dvdas, which have a DVD video and a DVD audio layer, each with several soundtracks. at least if they want to reach sales figures with more than two digits...

I'm slightly surprised they kept the names "David Live" and "Stage" since they have re-jigged the mix and running order. The new sets should be a great improvement, but I'm sure old ones may get quickly forgotten.
What about the cover art? I know of at least 2 covers existing for both of these live albums on official releases. Or will they go with something newly created?
And still holding my breath on some live 74/78 footage on the DVDA. Even if it's a simple teaser. Other acts have put on a video on thier DVDAs

I think I may have an attack of some kind! This news is unbelievable! I knew they were being reissued but I am ecstatic that the original running order has been restored PLUS some never before released tracks! I looks to me that the covers of both the albums (seen on BowieNet) have been refreshened-- so maybe they will keep the original covers?? Cant wait to hear Stage with some audiance response-- get that LIVE feeling going! David Live is my fave Live album so hearing it restored (muchly restored in comparison to my 15 year old Ryko cassette). I am happy.

In reply to:
Excellent I knew it would pop up sooner or later.
Especially considering Tony himself said it was going to be included. I think the most exciting part is that, as Wabbit pointed out, they're finally starting to do something right with these reissues, although I'm still waiting for Tin Machine II.
