Yes it is a shame the entire concert isn't being made available, still there is the 40th anniversary editions to look forward too.
Or will they rerelease the entire catalogue for his 60th birthday?
If at first you don't succeed, it probably wasn't worth doing in the first place

Speaking of omissions... no The Jean Genie or Rebel Rebel for Stage? Not that I'd miss them, but omitting them is surprising.
He's only added tracks that aren't already featured on David live.

Stage
11 Five Years
I wonder if we will get the full intro to Five years with the band intro or if we will just get the version issued previously on Stage where the last few seconds of the drum intro is faded in?

Having listened to Knock On Wood for many years, I often wondered why he called it a silly song!
I've lived for years thinking the word was silly with that old sound distortion, I always knew it coudn't be silly, but after so many years of thinking that was the word he used, you just sing with it.
These two re-releases are the ones Im looking forward too most, I have the David Live on ryko, but Stage was always way too much money, a friend has burnt me Stage, but it's not like owning is it?
The fact they are being released in this format, with the original titles and artwork pleases me very much, as for people suggesting they alter the artwork, I find that notion absurd, the artwork on both original albums is great imo.

yes, the artwork on both albums is good, but I like my version of the stage cover more.

Well there's no denying yours is more colourful, I like it very much, I've seen that photograph of Bowie on another CD? probably a boot.
And Im hoping the packaging is good on these re-issues, considering they will be 5.1, and in the correct playing order.

I actually think the original Stage cover is a damn good cover. The fact that it was taken by a fan from the crowd gives it a very 'real' feel.
And interestingly, by random chance, I'm listening to Stage as I type.

I like the front cover, but did they really need to replicate it in the middle and on the back of the original release?
Now, just let me finish

That I didn't know, but now you mention it, It duz have that rather amateurish quality to it, which is rather nice, I just wish they could enhance the colours more.

I had read somewhere that it was taken by a journal or newspaper photograher that was watching the concert ... he was there as a fan and when he developed it, he decided to send it to David or something. The legend goes that he just raised his hand and took the photograph. He was lucky to get it at all ...
`Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?' `That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat. `I don't much care where --' said Alice. `Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.
