Be my wife on rarest one was from (along with sound and vision) the Earls Court concert in London, this will be from the same source as the rest of Stage which was Philidelphia and whichever show it was (i cannot recall at the moment).

The first edition comes with a documentary that shows the "spider walk" scene as originally shot, marker and all. They changed it a little bit with the aid of computers for the "Director's Cut" (actually a misnomer, since it was the director who decided to delete those scenes in the original version). The scene was not supposed to end with a close-up of Regan opening her mouth full of blood and screaming. That was computer-generated.

David Bowie - David Live / Stage (EMI)

THIS reissued pair of double albums documents two of Bowie’s most intriguing tours.

David Live is from 1974’s Diamond Dogs shows. It marks his transition from glam rock to plastic soul, but there’s nothing plastic about the soulful reworkings of ‘All The Young Dudes’ and ‘Space Oddity’, along with a passionate, torch song version of ‘Rock ’n’ Roll Suicide’.

And a beefy new stereo mix by Tony Visconti just adds to the quality. CD 1 of 1978’s Stage comprises tracks from Low and Heroes, but they tend to their lowlights so drift into flat sterility - although playing such difficult music in arenas has to be applauded.

CD 2 is more engaging. It uses those albums’ synthesiser template to reshape tracks from Ziggy Stardust and Station To Station, and it strangely works.

Sometimes the drugs do work.

It's all so deliciously wicked...

An Internet friend who got an advance copy of "David Live" has confirmed that the songwriting credits on "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow" have been corrected, though the song still has this title and not "Here Today AND Gone Tomorrow" as in the original Ohio Players track.

I picked up my versions today and have found them to be of supurb soud quality. The only faults I could find were the lack of visual bonus DVD footage to compliment such fine shows.

Probably the best effort yet as far as EMI are concerned with the recent re-issues.
