Hi Claude,
I think it's in reference to the meterological/sociological/political disaster stirred up by Hurricane Katrina - America's all battered and bruised. And the Oliver Twist/flood pants (as someone mentioned on this HUGE thread) are perhaps a reference to poverty, given many of the victims of the crisis were poor. ???
I am hugely excited by what he is doing now, I hope it's just the beginning! Not only does he act and look fantastic, his voice is sounding superb!
Thank you Pablo for posting the thread, I was moping round the house yesterday trying to imagine him doing Wake Up so was thrilled when a friend alerted me to your thread today!

Me too! I'm very encouraged by this appearance, plus he has admitted he is writing his next album, given this appearance and his voice and wit in brilliant condition, I am more than ever convinced Bowie is returning to the obscure.
Probably the new album will be ready for release next spring?
