It's a shame about Your Turn To Drive not appearing on Heathen though, it is a great song

Not yet and I'm not really sure what channel it would be on? we have NBC on satellite, so it's just a matter of wading through the EPG in the hope of finding it

Have you all read this interview ( thanks BWW ) with Bowie?
Bowie Interview
Bowie comes across as being rather flippant and not giving a toss about much, perhaps it was the interviewer?
What say you?

For some reason what struck me was the similarity to alex in clockwork orange
Kudos for spotting this - in the meantime I guess we all read the interview where it is mentioned that this was in fact A Clockwork Orange look. I had never the idea before that Life On Mars could be referring to Kubrick, but now I realize that with some fantasy one could read this into the song.
I just now watched the video of Life On Mars - and I found it most important that this is again a boy's look - continuing the theme from Reality's cover. Then on the other hand the schoolboy's look also reminds me of Celliers' younger brother in Furyo. So Bowie is continuing the kid phase of Nietzsche's Uebermensch transformation - which is again a reference to a Kubrick movie.
I like this self referentialism in Bowie's work - somehow this guy is saying the same thing again and again in different ways. And people are again and again surprised and fascinated. Not a lot can do that.

How brilliant that wonderful songwriting ability is, Bowie is so clever to be able to write songs that fit into any decade and still refer to trends in life.

I do not know of any other contempory artist with this abilty, do you?
