Not highly original but better than "Fashion" again, my money is on "Five Years" much the better vocal wise.

Only time will tell be nice if they could sing them both, I'm still sticking with "Five Years" because it will stretch them vocally, let's see who wins

Don't you think the more upbeat queen bitch would be a better crowd pleaser though? Five years is a pretty depressing song on its' own.

To be honest with you Alan I couldn't give a toss about crowd pleasers, I'm thinking what would stretch them vocally as an act, If all the acts are performing crowd pleasers to simply perform another would be boring IMO.
No I find "Five Years" a most lovely song, not at all depressing to me.

Maybe you wouldn't care about crowd pleasers, but with you (and me) he is preaching to the converted, HOWEVER, at this event, there will be a large portion of the audience, who are NOT hard core Bowie fans, and he has to please them as much as us (moreso, as they are in attendance). Five years, although a great song, takes its' time to get going and is (and this isn't putting it down) a bit dirgelike, to the non-converted. Whereas Queen bitch can be a high powered, rocking track, guaranteed to get people excited. If one song is all he has, on his first live appearance in over a year, he wants to make people prick up their ears and put down their flutes of Champagne.

So we're talking business here not art?
Surely someone with as much standing as Bowie can sing what he pleases? Bowie has built his career of being not run of the mill, I do realize he is attempting to please a bunch of fashion police though.
I hope he doesn't end up doing gigs like this forever more, to me it is boring.
