Zoolander

Just thought that those of you who get Channel 4 may want to know that Zoolander (which, of course, has David Bowie playing himself in) is being shown tonight, at 9.05pm.

looks as if the cover photo on the single of Tonight may be the inspiration for Blue Steel

bad, bad movie with a bowie playing the famous pop-star David Bowie, not quite reaching the performance of Bowie playing Bowie on stage.

What a crappy film, the only highlight of the film was when david appeared. Though i think that owen wilson's a funny actor...

Agreed. Was very disappointed although I do like Owen/Stiller.

Perhaps that is the problem - instead of writing a good script they rely on Stiller/Owen delivering their performances. This works for some minutes but when stretched to movie length it is a bit like those movies I used to make with my school friends - just stumbling from situation to situation, each one slightly funny but seen as a whole just a collection of sketches which leaves the feeling of the actors having more fun in front of the camera than the audience in front of the screen. Some days ago I watched Starsky & Hutch which worked much better because like the previous generation of comedy movies it had a working plot. And as it seems they did not even try to deliver 150% of everything in the end - avoiding the usual hollywood mistake of piling up things till it does not work anymore (even more fun, even more action, even more effects and such).
