Great news Scott and good luck, will you be singing "Future Legend" as the intro? It would add that mysterious touch just perfectly.

Yeah - Furture Legend works great as a set opener. We did it first for a gig we did on Halloween last year and decided it worked so well we've used it a few times since.
The Bowie Contingent have been pretty quiet over the past couple of months due to losing a guitarist, but we've been auditioning a few folks and things are looking good. BowieFest is finally going to be going ahead in March and our agents got us a good few gigs sorted for this summer around the UK - so keep your eyes and ears peeled!!
BowieFest is something I'm very excited about this year, more live acts than last time and some great toons being covered. Apart from The Bowie Contingent, the line up currently includes:
Taste of Shotgun Bhuna Avangaad Pisco Sour Hour
Plus and EXTRA special surprise guest!!!
More info to follow!

Don't think we'd be doing Future Legend, not too keen on doing the "This ain't rock n' roll..." announcement.
We learnt Diamong Dogs to replace Rock N' Roll Suicide - its frankly a right bugger to sing, so rather than have the band relearn it all in a different key we decided to replace it with a more up beat number.
I noted the other day that the "This ain't rock n' roll, this is genocide line" is a self-reference to rock n' roll suicde, so it makes our song substitution quite appropriate!

He just said, he isn't keen on doing the 'this ain't rock and roll' line. Do you now read what you quote???

I'm interested on why he isn't keen?
Like does he consider it to be pompous or dated?

Basically, we're still trying to make a name for ourselves on the pub/club circuit. We need to appeal to as many people as possible. Hence our set list is pretty much a greatest hits set list. I don't think anyone excepting the hard core Bowie fans are gonna get 'Future Legend'. They're gonna go, "what's all this bollocks" and decide to have their pint somewhere else. I imagine once we've got a good fan base behind us that we could indeed drop in rarer stuff for the hardcore, but for now its very much about pleasing the public.
Another example is my original costume choice of Bowie's Reality tour look. thing is its not instantly recongnisible by all and sundry as being Bowie.

Well of course that makes great sense, I was just wondering your reason for omitting the "Future Legend" now you've explained, I understand fully, I guess it must be difficult some nights? especially with non Bowie fans per se, silly me, I didn't think of that, I automatically assumed the audience would be Bowie fans

As long as you remember the wig and a date, you'll not go wrong
Good luck Scott.

Well we had a great reception at this gig. We made an arse of Sound And Vision - we were all playing different parts at different times! Fortunately we were forgiven and by the time we got round to 'Life On Mars?' and "Heroes" we were getting roars of applause. Here's some pics from the night.
...oh and a big up to the guy who requested 'Cygnet Committee'! Would have loved to!

it's prob not what you meant, but cygnet committee isn't that hard to do : with a band you can get a 'bolero' [ravel] background going and the audience can either rev up to finally ask their intended for a snog or really kick-ass get out an insult they've been trying to for yonx. lol. i've still got the breakdown of it somewhere !
