I wonder what Nile Rodgers thinks of track two?
I actually really like the concept of this compilation, it's been done for Brian Wilson(projects outside of the Beach Bums)Phil Spector, Quincy Jones and Jack Neitchze.

I'm fairly sure Visconti didn't do This Town Ain't... either, but as Elvis Costello would say, it was a brilliant mistake.
Edit: Actually, now I see that they re-worked the song with Visconti in 1997.

I assume track two is Iggy Pop's version of "China Girl," since Iggy is mentioned on the album sleeve, and Visconti mixed his version of "China Girl." Also, it would be kinda stupid having two Bowie tracks appear consecutively.

It's the Iggy Pop version. Which is the original recording of China Girl.

Don't treat him like an idiot, it says "Bowie, David" on there so he's assuming that's the correct one.

For the sake of the compilation's integrity, I hope it is the Iggy Pop version. I got the track listing and cover from Amazon.co.uk but I cannot find it elsewhere at this stage.

I asked Visconti in an email. It is Iggy's version.

I guess we should likewise assume that 'The Prettiest Star' is the 1970 version of the song (with Bolan on guitar).
Other than "Heroes", these are relatively obscure pickings of Bowie's catalogue. Were these Visconti's personal selections?
