Queen beats The King to legendary rock status 23rd November 2007, 9:00 WST
Brits have dubbed Queen frontman Freddie Mercury the greatest rock legend of all time in a new survey out today.
Elvis Presley narrowly missed out on the rock’n’roll crown coming in second, while Woodstock veteran Jimi Hendrix was hot on his heels in third place.

The research commissioned to coincide with the launch of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, also reveals the most memorable moment in rock history as Ozzy Osbourne biting off a bat’s head on stage.
Slash’s handiwork in Sweet Child O’ Mine ranked as the top guitar solo of all time.

.....not to mention Jon Bon Jovi at 5.
I guess part of the odd selections is that it was polled in respect to guitar rock or more specifically "guitar heroes".

Looks like you have have to be deceased or partially dead to make the top four.
I'm suprised Bowie hasn't done better there.

More crap, how can Slash beat Bowie? Bowie should be at the top or very near the top with Elvis. Where is John Lennon?
I can agree with some of them though, but Slash and Bon Jovi beating Bowie? Come on.
