Unreleased Tin Machine Track Emerges
|
|
|
Originally slated as track 3 on Tin Machine's second album, this song (titled SHOCK FOR ONE on youtube) was apparently pulled at the last minute and then intended as a b-side.
The bside never eventuated, and the track has remained unreleased ever since.
LISTEN HERE
The video has been cut to add a little bit of eye fodder while listening to this gem.

Well it is very Tin Machine isn;t it! Except the chorus, which admittedly is the only bit I like. I will give it a few more listens

Tin Machine producer Tim Palmer has told me that he remembers the song, but cannot remember the name. He remarks "It has been a while. I like it though".
I am waiting on replies from Reeves and Tony.

Three cheers for Maarten.
Now get back to your kiddies and leave us alone.
my face is finished, my body's gone and i can't help but think, standin' up here in all this applause and gazin' down at all the young and the beautiful with their questioning eyes, that i must above all things love myself

Tin Machine II - the lost gem in the crown

Further cements my opinion that Tin Machine II is a too-oft overlooked, underrated and maligned album on the strength of the two Sales tracks. Drop 'Stateside' and 'Sorry', whack this one in there, you've got a ten track album that is certainly Bowie's best since 'Scary'.
God have mercy, you're a hopeless guitar player! You even make ME feel better you son of a bitch!

Love this song. Would have been an excellent song to have on TMII. How on earth did it miss out appearing on either the album or one of the singles? Absolutely crazy.

Is Bowie using his sax to have a "whammy bar guitar duel" with Reevz?

Bowie definitely lost its pragmatism with TM while wanting to be one of the boys. Funny how he quickly launch the S&V tour to reassert his Godly fame.
