Get Your 1976 ProShot Tour Footage Here

http://www.ina.fr/archivespourtous/index.php?vue=notice&id_notice=CAA7600458301

This is the Only pro shot footage there is of the 1976 tour and I love it to bits, I am glad it's finally up on the site. The footage has done the rounds for many years, but has never been as complete as it is now :)

It seems the footage has been restored, which is nice.
The anchorman, the late Yves Mourousi, who was a nightlifer, invited Iggy Pop live on the set of the TV news in 1977.
At first I thought Natacha was speaking in a provincial accent but then it might be Russian.
She claims to have met David very early (that would probably be the mid-60s) in London, when people she was working for took her out.
She says she started a fan club with the children of customers and children from catechism classes.

Her accent is peculiar isn't it ?
She was interviewed and filmed in Brussels, but the concert footage is very probably from the Pavillions de Paris.

I've just found this: http://www.manofmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2932, which confirms Natacha's Russian origin.
The thread was apparently started by one of the fans seen with her in this footage.
She lived in Paris so the interview didn't take place in Brussels.
However, since INA dates the archive to May 18 and David played in Paris on the 17th and 18th, maybe the concert was actually in Brussels (May 11th, which would have left enough time for editing), hence the pictures of Natacha on a train.

It's surprising that so little quality footage from the 76 tour circulates. I've never heard any rumour that Bowie had any shows properly filmed or has any shows recorded on multitrack.

That said, I think some footage may have been recorded at the following cities: Vancouver, Cow Palace in San Fran, Omni in Atlanta, Capitol Center in DC(2 shows) and MSG in NYC. No concrete evidence, but have heard that those venues sometimes recorded gigs from that era including jumbotrons. Don't know about Europe.

Well, there have been a few very interesting discussions about the footage on BWW http://www.network54.com/Forum/8980/thread/1208002536/The+INA+'76+footage+-+further+musings+on+the+case+for+Brussels- for example...

At the end of the clip , Bowie says something like "Looking forward to seeing you in Paris" making it clear that he wasn;t there at that time...

The link works for me...

Thank god for the 1976 8mm footage that is still around.
DC will handle those next after the absolutely fantastic job he did on the silent 1974 footage, giving it it's proper audio after all these years.

I imagine that a lot of the Dates you mention, BFP will be among the footage he has.

Were jumbotron used for any of the 76 shows? I've never heard a report, but have heard they were used ofr some shows in 74. I've heard no rumours about 78.

Bowie had his own video system for many dates on the 83 tour.
