HERE’S proof rock stars are just normal people.

Legend DAVID BOWIE looks less Ziggy Stardust, more bloke next door while out shopping in the SoHo district of New York.

Dressed in this boring get-up the Changes singer could walk past hundreds of people unrecognised.

But he’s still a Starman to me.

i agree with infidel. I think he still looks cool, even in jeans and a sweater. he's still wearing cool sneaks, and he wears his jeans just right. if you saw him from the shoulders down, you'd never guess.

Hopefully album reels. It's apparently a shopping bag from Dean & DeLuca - an upscale grocery store that opened in SoHo in 1977.

Anyway, I'm reliably informed by those in the know* that check shirts are, like, sooooo in at the moment. And black is, well, the new black. So, you see, Bowie's clearly tapping into the zeitgeist still.

I thought you were going ot show a picture of himn brushing his teeth from the Thursday Child video.

If I were to pass him on the street, I'd not know it was him. He looks good for a little 4 year rest and relaxation.

I still dig it though. Good for him for keeping up appearances.

Is it just me or do other people find it sad too that the biggest news we get around here for months (probably the whole year) is that he's been seen going out shopping?

Back in the days of the reality-tour he looked like he was in his early 40's. 4 years later he doesn't look any younger then his age. If he carries on like this he will look like the farther of keith richards in a further 5 years

It's not sad per se. It's the fact that he's out and about. Proof he's not totally dead (shock) .

If the biggest news is a shopping trip, then so be it. Maybe he's taking a walk in preparation of a new album (one could wish)!

I agree with you. He's shopping...and we've seen what he looks like. We would never have seen these kind of photos of him once upon a time. And yes, he looks like he has aged a lot in a short space of time. He even has jowls! No more chiseled features. Whatever happened to him with his heart scare seems to have taken a toll on his body.

There's an HD era shot of DB pushing a baby pram. I've also got a early 76 or Bowie getting videos from a rentasl place and going to his car.

He's been working on those jowls for a while now. Poor thing. I'm so scared of getting old.

At least he's really not fat any more.

What if there was a fat person who made millions of records, millions of dollars, but did not tour because they were fat? Or, they did little tours? Would that be humiliating, or would they not be taken seriously?

I didn't mean to question it like no one cares that the man may have been fat, or he may currently be fat. I think it's a good thing that he is out shopping. So he got caught out in the sun instead of in studio. Oh well.

Yes of course Bowie has changed and his heart problems would have accelerated his ageing.

Never the less he still looks pretty damn good for a guy who is about to turn 62 years of age.
Those photos of him are au-natural pics. (No make up artists, air brushed studio shots etc).

We all age ... the trick is to do it gracefully ...

Is it possible for someone to catch Mr. Bowie looking out of the window. Or maybe at the doctors office in the waiting room and gazing at a magazine. That would also be exciting. God, maybe he would wave at the camera. I know we would all just die from the satisfaction.
