i should have read my thoughts before i posted. although it's giving a new generation more music to play to, imo, it's kind of making fun of it at the same time - by simulating the musician in LEGO form (or whatever the case may be - rock band etc).

these games are good learning tools to learn how to play the songs, but are people REALLY learning how to play? considering guitar hero (?) uses a 3 or 4 button keypad on a simulated guitar and calls it a real instrument. if it were a guitar, have a string or two, then i'd say people are learning whilst playing.

maybe that's just me. i'm old school like that.
