Good heavens the deluxe boxset looks like a home scrapbooking kit or something. I agree that many versions of a six track album is way overkill but I am actually most attracted to the photos and booklets and having the album AND the live recording on wonderful VINYL.
So I'll be shelling out the $150 or so, yikes.

Hmm. No way to get a 5.1 version of that album without buying more versions of the same thing than one could ever compare to each other?

Haha as awesome as this sounds, anyone else find it great that you get no less than 7 copies of Station To Station in the deluxe edition?
Even though the 'Deluxe Edition' does have some great, photos, booklets, badges etc. 7 copies of a 6 track album is way over the top, not to mention a bit pricey.
For me its a case of less is more ... I am going for the 'Special Edition'.

I would get the Deluxe edition, too, mainly for both the Nassau show and the DVD which has all the versions you would want including the 5.1 and the superior quality editions. The extras are nice but I do think the 1985 CD master is the most redundant thing on the list especially since the sound quality must be the worse of the lot...I´m assuming that, though, so correct me if I´m wrong.

Consider yourself corrected
Actually the original 1985 RCA audio is one of the best

I'm happy to oblige with a correction:
You should have written, "the sound quality must be the worst of the lot."

I know the difference but thanks for the correction. Writing thoughts as they come sometimes cancels out my processing of comparative and superlative differences. It was my fault in not editing.

So basically all of the different versions are suited for everyone's personal preference when it comes to sound quality?
