Luther Vandross

I still remember back in August 1974 when I was visiting my schoolmate Carlos Alomar in the studio during the making of the Young Americans album. David overheard me singing a vocal idea of mine and immediately put me on the microphone. It was my first experience at recording and it cemented my desire to pursue a career in music . I carry with me to this day his words of encouragement and vote of confidence. Thank you, David. You have always been known as someone who recognizes and discovers new talent. I'm honoured to have been in the path of your brilliant and artistic journey.
