Peter Frampton

"All I ever wanted to be was a guitar player in a band. [In the Glass Spider tour] taking away the stress of doing the singing -- and the stress of communicating with the audience -- enabled me to just concentrate on playing guitar for 2 hours each night. It was phenomenal. It was also pretty raucous, and in that sense I felt twinges of the old days with Humble Pie."

Re: Peter Frampton new [re: ziggfried]

"[Robert] Fripp is one of the most inventive guitarists of our age. I've always been a big fan of his. And of course that's true of Adrian Belew as well. Also, whenever people ask me about my favorite Stevie Ray Vaughan tracks, I go back to things like "China Girl" and "Let's Dance." It's so incongruous when you think about it, but Vaughan's style was so cool over those chords. I've got all of Stevie's solo stuff and I love the Vaughan brothers, but when I first heard Stevie it was on "China Girl" and "Let's Dance." I know David isn't too thrilled with that part of his career -- he feels it was too commercial --- but the combination of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bowie was a great idea."
