Chris Rodley: What about the 'pop' music featured in Lost Highway? I'm thinking particularly of the opening David Bowie song, 'I'm Deranged'. It could almost have been written for the movie. David Lynch: It was! [laughs] It was track number sixteen on Bowie's last album. So I'm listening to the album and the whole beginning of the film jumped right out at me. Exactly as you see it. It works in mood and with the story in many ways.
