Space Oddity 1969 release - Rare cut?

I have this version of it... it's the "Space Oddity" release with the picture of David up-close with scraggly hair and the green sequin bodysuit on the back, standard jacket, withthe hot pink sleeve inside, but in the lower left-hand corner on the back cover it has a special stamp in gold. It says "demonstration only NOT FOR SALE" around this big gold disc. I don't think the disc had a picture on it. Can anyone tell me about this special promo cut? How many more are out there?

Sounds interesting, i'll have to check my referance books when i get back to Brisbane to morrow night.

As to the promo stamp? Sometimes dealers do that themselves to increase the value, as my old boss used to with many items. This way customers would think they were getting a RARE issue, when thay were only getting a standard issue.

I'd suspect it may be rare, though i'd need a catologue number to find out more.

It's damn hard when you dont have any research material with you :(

Keep on swinging
