Weird bootleg.

I was at a used CD shop a while ago, when I saw a repackaging of the albums Scary Monsters and Pinups on one CD. On the back, the song titles had various spelling errors that confirmed my suspicions that this was a bootleg. I think it was from Russia, I can't remember. It actually had an EMI label on it. Anyone else seen this?
screw you, I'm going to the duck pond.

They are Russian, they are unauthorized, and from what I've heard, they don't sound too good.

I have the S2S/YA one and it sounds great. The cover is also one of the better unauthorized releases I have ever seen. It had a combination of the Rykkodisc artwork. It was only the 2 albums on the cd and no bonus tracks.

i've got quite a few of those, as far as i remember they were bundled as early on/david bowie space oddity/lodger tmwstw/low hunky dory/diamond dogs ziggy/aladdin sane young americans/s2s david live/btwn (2 discs) scary monsters/pinups tonight/ryko bonuses let's dance/heroes labyrinth/buddha nlmd/ryko bonuses tin machine/ryko bonuses
the sound is ok (i can't really tell the difference), and the arwork is really creative (seems like the bootlegger knew his bowie, although did not really know much of english).
oh dammit why did i bother typing this - here's a perfect listing
as far as it concerns me, they are completely wothless, unless you are a fan of russian counterfeits (which i am)

Strictly speaking they are pirates and not bootlegs. They were sold by a company out of st. petersburg using the name 'private store' but their web-site has now closed down. They also sold all the bowie albums in mp3 on two cds.

I'm actually gonna go to St.Petersburg this Christmas. I plan on buying some more of those, especially the so-called "singles" collections which are actually collections of the ryko bonus tracks. These pirated ones are great if your curious about an album (i.e. "tonight" or NLMD") and don't want to shell out $20 for it.
Preparation is the key to survival. Without it, all you're left with is luck.

There seems to be a new batch to these russian disc in vancouver. It only appears to be the 70's albums and not the ones with the bonus tracks. They also had all the lennon solo albums, stones albums, queen and nazareth(!) LP's in 2 on 1 cds.
