I recently bought some Bowie '8-track' tapes they are kind of pointless being that the sound is quite poor.

I had an 8-Track player in my VW bug in High School. The only tapes I had were "Low," "Lodger," "S2S," and of course, the Carpenters.

Now my pointless Bowie items are the RCA CD releases of Lodger, Aladin Sane, and Station to Station. The quality is abyssmal, as if they just played the record into a digital mic. Someone once told me they were worth something, but I seriously doubt it.

I would love to get some of the RCA cds even if the sound is'nt as good as the new ones.

Really?! The sound is truly awful. Lots of pops/buzzing. DJ on Lodger has static running through.

I heard that RCA only had a few months left on their rights to publish Bowie's stuff when CD's were beginning to take hold so they cranked out this line of sub-par CDs. Damn Bastards. If you're seriously interested, send me a private message, maybe we can work out a trade.

If $25.00 x 3 is pointless to you, then get rid of them. The RCA CDs are collectors' items.
