You don't 'win' auctions without a cost. Perhaps you should brush on your reading skills.

He actually was right, I bought it on ebay and it cost me about £30. Could be considered steep but I have seen higher priced ones and its something I have wanted for a long time.

Then he should have said he 'gained' rather than 'won' the fucking autograph.

Bollocks. You win auctions like any competition. You don't gain them.

Listen you prize tool. An auction is a sale. Not a fucking competition!
"Hey I went down the auction house today and won a painting!"
You do not win things at an auction. You bid for an item and then you fucking pay for it.
Are you pretending to be a complete fuckwit, or what?

Oh dear Shyster, and you were doing so well, progressing on to the level three readings books.
But let me help you out here... An auction is a competition between two or more bidders, who ever provides the highest bid is the winner of the auction.
Now if you do not want to take mine and many others word, I cut and paste this sentence directly from an e-bay page...
In reply to:
When the auction has ended, sellers should contact the winning bidder(s)

An auction is a public sale in which goods or property are sold to the HIGHEST bidder. Not the the fucking "winning" bidder.
I'm talking about the correct definition of an auction. Not fucking Ebay!
And you a school teacher.

Good bit of research there, Shyster but then I am not afraid to hide my profile!
By the way your argument is starting to fall to bits now...
In reply to:

He/she who attains the highest, longest, fastest in any form of competition must be deemed the winner.
Ok, so you don't trust ebay to get it right, here's a few more quotes found on various websites
In reply to:
The person who offers the highest bid wins the right to purchase the item at that price.
After an auction ends, Andale begins the post-sale process by sending your winning bidder a Winning Bidder Notification (WBN) email.
The winning bidder will have their name announced at the Duke-Florida State game on March 6.

i raise my hand. i'd also like to point out that people who do not win the bid, shockingly are considered to have lost the bid. winners, and losers. it's all a game that you spend money on.
