Stupid question...who the heck is Julie (you know, the bonus track on the Virgin release of NLMD)?

Like it really matters...

Julie was this little girl who once gave David Bowie cigarette money in the 70's. She was a "groupie" who used to hang around the studio and it so happened that Mr. Bowie left his wallet in the hotel room on 14 Sept. 1979. He went outside to the crowd of people and bummed money for his smokes. Although she didn't have much, she gave him the money to get his smokes.

After he smoked the pack (it took all of about 5 minutes), he autographed it and gave it back to Julie. She went to sleep every night wearing no clothes but snuggling up to this autographed cig box.

Thinking her wierd, her mother (who already thought she was wierd for being a Bowie fan) commited her to the St. Marie Institution where Julie learned to no longer love Bowie.

Apparently cured, Julie had no need for the box and sold it to her cousin for $0.78.

Julie has since gone on to become famous in her own right, but Bowie has forever immortalized her in that bonus track on NLMD.

The box is still at large....
