Way back in the 1980's I found an original poster from the Movie "Man Who Fell To Earth" selling for $150. I HAD to have it and since I'd seen the same poster in another shop selling for like $400 bucks, it seemed like a bargain. I saved my money bussing tables and went and bought it.
Around this same time a friend who worked at a record store gave me a promo poster for the "Jazzing For Blue Jean" video they were selling. It was cool and I threw it up on the wall. I never hung the movie poster, believing it to be too valuable. When I went to college I just ripped the "Jazzing" poster down and threw it away. Who would care?
So a few months ago I decided to check out what the MWFTE poster was worth on EBAY. It took a long time to find one for sale and finally it sold for like $150.
But I also found a promo poster for the "Jazzing For Blue Jean" that sold for $300. Who knew?
This shrewd investment stategy of mine has followed me to this day...

That sort of thing could haunt a person for life! When the Beatles anthology book came out in 2000 I was in holiday in Florida, after reading about it in a news paper I went to the Virgin megastore. The book came with a very special round poster limited to 2000 worldwide, when I got home to the UK I took the poster out to look at it to find that there were 2 of them, i am still happy about that to this day. They must be worth a fortune, does anyone else have one? I would love to know how much they are worth. They are round with the apple logo on the back with the Beatles on the front, they are thick high quality card and I'm sure that it had the smell of apple.

*shudders at the thought of someone ripping and throwing away Bowie posters*
What were you thinking, man?
So sad, so fair, like a dead squirrel still clinging to the highway's edge.

I know, makes me shiver too. I would'nt dare to think about the other Bowie rarities that have been thrown away in the past.

I have a 5 foot card board stand-up similar to [see attachment] but it doesn't stand up anymore. I allowed someone to move in with me for about 10 months, 10 years ago. To make some room, I moved some stuff out into the garage. The damp winter weather ruined it. Cardboard. I should have known better. And I had this stand-up in top notch shape for 20 years until I moved it. I should be shot.

I guess I was thinking that I should grow up and not have all that "Fan" stuff anymore.
See what "maturity" will do for ya? I kinda feel like a southern preacher caught with his secretary.. "I have sinned against you!"

That's a cool cut out, I suppose you could always lay it against a wall.

That's nothing. My mate's mom used to go out with John Lennon and he gave her a Beatles Acetate from their first recording sessions before anything was released. When they split up she dumped it. Now that's bad luck!

Well, too late for my double sided Heathen promo poster, but it was something I just HAD to hang and show off.
