Heart's Filthy Mixes Part 2 new

As this is collectors' corner and open up to people soliciting trades for the same items, I have decided to start a different thread on sys's topic. We've established that these are the mixes:Alt. Mix (aka NIN/Trent Reznor mix) 5:20 on both uk and us cd singles
Bowie Mix 4:57 AKA album version
Simenon Mix 5:01 on the us cd single
Good Karma Mix 5:00 on the 2nd Dead man walking cd
Rubber Mix not heard this but it is on the Japan Hallo spaceboy cds and is a different mix to the others
Simple Text Mix
Filthy Mix
The last three are all on the UK 12" side b, and as such they must all be different mixes to the above. They must also be different to the alt mix and bowie mix as they make up the a side of the aforementioned 12".

My question is does anybody have ALL or some of these? I am keen for a trade of these tracks.

Almost everyone here probably has:

Bowie mix a.k.a Album Version (don't you just hate when they give em fancy titles)
Trent Reznors Alt Mix

In addition to those two I have the filthy mix. I would presume that the tracks from the 12" are the rarest. Anyone interested in getting these tracks asap can pm me. i can trade over AIM.

So I need: Simenon/Good Karma/Rubber/Simle test Mixes.

I would also be happy to trade what I have for Gemini spacecraft remixes...

While we are on the subject...aren't there a bunch of Hallo spaceboy remixes?

The Good Karma Mix and the Simenon Mix are the same thing.

Also, there are five Hallo Spaceboy remixes, all by Pet Shop Boys (to my knowledge):

Remix (or PSB Remix, 7" Remix, as on 1. Outside version 2)
Extended Remix (or 12" Remix, a longer version of the above, UK/US 12" promo)
Double Click Mix (UK/US 12" promo)
Lost In Space Mix (UK/US 12" promo)
Instrumental (UK/US 12" promo. This one I have not heard, and do not know the instrumental take of which mix it is).

Re: Heart's Filthy Mixes Part 2 new [re: Sysiyo]

Hearts Filthy Lesson, The (Bowie/Eno/Gabrels/Garson/Kizilcay/Campbell): the first single from 1. Outside, the 7" released on green vinyl (Virgin/RCA 74321 329407). A 3'33" Edit was released in advance on The Outside Sampler (Virgin DPRO-11008). The Edit and album version are respectively called Radio Edit and Bowie Mix on the CD-single (RCA/BMG 74321 30703 2), which additional features an Alt. Mix (by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails). The US CD-single (Virgin 7243 8 38518 2 9) also features a Simenon Mix; this mix is called Good Karma Mix on the US Virgin SPRO-11038 promo 12". On the regular (Arista/BMG 74321 30338 1) and picture disc 12" (BMG/RCA 74312 13901-2) the following remixes are added: Rubber Mix, Simple Text Mix and Filthy Mix. The Rubber Mix was later included on the bonus CD of the Japanese issue of 1. Outside Version 2 and on the Japanese 'Hallo Spaceboy' CD-single (BMG/Arista BVCA-8820), whereas the Good Karma Mix reappeared on the UK 'Dead Man Walking' CD-single (RCA/BMG 74321475842). The Bowie Mix and Edit were reissued as B-sides of the 'Hallo Spaceboy' CD-single (RCA/BMG 74321 35384 2) and 7" respectively (BMG/RCA 74321 329407); the latter also features on the US edition of Best Of Bowie. An Argentinian BMG sampler (BMG PCD 150) wrapped up all but the Simenon/Good Karma Mix on a single promo CD. Here's a summary of all the available mixes:

Alt. Mix (EC 12"; UK/US CD-single)
Bowie Mix (EC 12"; UK CD-single), LP Version (US CD-single) or Original Mix (US promo 12")
Edit (US promo CD-single) or Radio Edit (UK CD-single)
Filthy Mix (EC 12"; UK/US promo 12"; BMG PCD 150 CD)
Rubber Mix (EC 12"; Japanese 'Hallo Spaceboy' CD-single)
Simenon Mix (US CD-single) or Good Karma Mix (US promo 12"; UK 'Dead Man Walking' CD-single)
Simple Text Mix (EC 12"; UK/US promo 12"; BMG PCD 150 CD)
The 4'55" video clip is available on the Best Of Bowie DVD. Played live on the Outside and Earthling tours. A live version from the 1996 edition of the Phoenix Festival (Long Marston, 18-07-96) appeared on the Limited Edition 3 Track Sampler (Arista/BMG 74321458262), whereas a performance from the 1997 edition (19-07-97) is featured on liveandwell.com. A third live version, from the 50th Birthday Concert (New York, Madison Square Garden, 09-01-97), has officially been released on Earthling In The City, a sampler given away with GQ magazine.

To add to the confusion of identical mixes being given different titles (lousy bastards!) it appears myself and Sys may have trcaks mislabelled. It would be great if the Iluustrated db dicography gave running times as well! Surle there must be some smarmy collector on here who has them all?

Re: Heart's Filthy Mixes Part 2 [re: centrum]

After some reaseach at Bassman, I'm now quite sure the Simenon, Good Karma and Filthy mixes are all the same mix. They all have precisely the same lenght listed, 5:01. Also, I find it somewhat unlikely that the Simenon/Good Karma mix wouldn't have been included on the 1995 12" single when all the other mixes were. I'd say the same mix hasn't appeared with two different titles like we've thought thus far, but three.

Anyone who's heard both Simenon/Good Karma and Filthy mixes can feel free to prove me wrong.

Good Detective work. That's lousy that they would do that. Not even Bowie web sites had the scoop on that. Nice research. So now we know. Hey Sys, don't for get about the simple and rubber (oh, dear...innuendo will follow when i make a statement like that to sysiyo.) :)

Re: Heart's Filthy Mixes Part 2 new [re: Sysiyo]

I think I can help out. I have all the HFL mixes, all from cd.
The Filthy Mix is definately different from the Simenon/Good Karma mix, the info on the Illustrated DB discography is 100% correct.

Track times:
David Bowie - 01 Hearts Filthy Lesson (Edit) (3:35)
David Bowie - 02 Hearts Filthy Lesson (Bowie Mix) (5:00)
David Bowie - 03 Hearts Filthy Lesson (Alternate Mix) (5:23)
David Bowie - 04 Hearts Filthy Lesson (Rubber Mix) (7:43)
David Bowie - 05 Hearts Filthy Lesson (Simple Mix) (6:41)
David Bowie - 06 Hearts Filthy Lesson (Filthy Mix) (5:51)
David Bowie - 07 Hearts Filthy Lesson (Simenon Mix) (5:01)

I'll trade a CDR of this (plus some bonus stuff if you'd like). I'm interested in the Dublin promo thing, VCD's, or just let me know what you got.

I actually just came to the same conclusion after cross-referencing TW, Bassman and Illusitrated Discography.
